“Different Ways of Escaping the Stress”

People have different ways of escaping the stress and difficulties of modern life. Some read: Some exercise: Others work in their gardens. What do you think are the best ways of reducing stress? Use specific details and examples in your answer.
---------------------------------------------------------------------

Modern life style is full of stress. Exercise and working in garden do give physical exercise those are some of the best ways for stress relief. Reading however I don’t recommend because in era of computerization we have sedentary lifestyle and reading too is a sedentary activity and would not make any change in our lifestyle. In this essay I'll give you some simple ways for relieving stress.

Relaxation: Sit down at your most comfortable place, close your eyes and suggest to your self, “I am calm. I feel relaxed. My hands are relaxed. I'm calm and relaxed. My arms are relaxed. My arms and my legs are relaxed. My torso is relaxed and calm. My shoulders and neck are relaxed. My entire body is calm and relaxed. I feel relaxed and calm. This process is called autosuggestion.

Visit nearest outing spot: Go to the harbor, the nearest beach, a lake, river bank or garden. Just sit there and feel it, smell it, hear it. You will feel relaxed.

Walking: Take a thirty minute walk. Try to relax while you walk. Don’t think of your current problems, try to sense your environments like smell, sound impressions and what you see as well as your inner feelings: heart beat, your feet touching the ground and the movements of your arms. You will feel relaxed.

Music: Listen to music. Don't listen to heavy rock and similar music; this might invoke even more stress. Listen to slow and light music. You shall feel more relaxed.

Laughter: When you are stressed, call or visit friends that you have had much fun with. Talk with them about funny things you have done in the past and as they the youngsters say, “Get your laugh on”. Remember “Laughter is the best medicine”.

“Different Things to Stay Healthy”

People do many different things to stay healthy. What do you do for good health? Use specific reasons and examples to support your answer.
-----------------------------------------------------------

Certain things I do to keep healthy are that, I live a disciplined life. I wakeup every morning at five and take a long walk. I brush my teeth, take shave, and take bath. Besides I take my breakfast at regular time. Keeping empty stomach can cause acidity and other stomach disorders like acidity etc. Furthermore I invariably take my lunch between 1230 to 1330 hours and I am regular about it. Furthermore I do take light snacks and tea around 1600 Hrs and finally have my supper at 2000 Hrs. I retire to bed at 2200 hrs without fail. I follow what I studied in my Nursery days that is: “Early To Bed And Early To Rise, Make A Man Healthy Wealthy And Wise”. Regular schedule for sleeping and waking and regular food habits contribute very highly to one’s good health.

Real enemies of health are bad habits and addictions. I don’t smoke, chew tobacco or consume tobacco in any form. Tobacco is a cancer causing substance. Furthermore I don’t drink alcohol or consume any other narcotic drugs like brown sugar, LSD, etc.

I keep myself busy in my work and other activities of my liking and I never remain idle. Idling can give rise to many mental problems like anxiety, depression, and loneliness. I have a creative hobby of music and writing. I play harmonica in my spare time.

In conclusion, in order to maintain good health one must sleep in time and wake up in time. Do regular exercises. Walking is one of the best exercises. Be regular in food habits don’t have bad habits of smoking, drinking, and drugs. And last but not least have creative hobbies don’t allow our body and mind to idle.

Saturday, January 13, 2007

Dear Madam / Sir,
Greetings,

I am writing to express my dissatisfaction over your wrongly billing me.

I would like to draw your attention to my visit to your store yesterday on January, 12 ’07 around seven in the evening. I purchased a brand new laptop with 2 numbers DVDs and an extra carry-case, for an amount of $1100 through my Credit Card.

On reaching home at nine and unpacking I found that In addition to the laptop I am wrongly billed for pair of extra speakers and headphones too. Excess amount thus billed is $50 and total amount of bill being $1150. I am sure this is inadvertent and attributable to the system error. However I am quite unhappy about it.

Please either send the bill duly corrected that enables me to make payment through an account payee check within the specified time limit of the credit card agency or refund the excess charged $50 thru a demand draft in our favor.

I request you to do the needful at the earliest.

Thank you,
Regards,
Yours truly,

Signed

Dear Mr. Principal;
Greetings,

I have been coaching Spoken English to the age group of five to seven years pupils at your school. I used to take evening classes voluntarily on all the working days. I have enjoyed working and I am very happy and so are my students.

I am writing to you to tender my sincere apologizes, because I shall be no longer able to volunteer my services to your school as I had been rendering during past six months. The reason is I am a fulltime employee of a government organization and I have been transferred to Mathura office. I have to report at Mathura at the earliest. I am confident you shall appreciate this.

You may kindly make some alternate arrangement for an English teacher in my place. I know it involves difficulties. Kindly pardon me for the same. I shall always cherish memories of working with such an excellent school, Staff & most lovely students.

Thanking you in anticipations,
With kindest regards,

Letter About Neighbor's Smokey Barbecue

You have a neighbor who regularly cooks food on a smoky outdoor barbecue. The smoke blows directly into your home. You have complained to your neighbor, but he refuses to clean barbecue.
Write a police complaint.
=============================================
July 21, 2007
Police Officer,
Dear Sir,
Kind Regards,
I am writing to you to complain about my neighbor’s outdoor smoky barbecue that throws entire smoke in my home thereby causing severe pollution and inconvenience to me and all my family members.

My neighbor Mr. Andrews has a very smoky outdoor barbecue. He regularly cooks on that and the entire smoke gushes in my home. This causes great deal of inconvenience and discomfort to my entire family. All of us are affected by pollution badly and start coughing. My wife is an asthmatic and gets bouts of asthma that is very painful. On two occasions because of this smoke my wife had to be hospitalized and was required to be put on oxygen. Last but not the least this causes great disturbance in my children’s studies. I am rather confident you can appreciate this.
I requested Mr. Andrews several times to at least get the barbecue thoroughly cleaned so that this problem can be solved. But I am extremely sorry to state that he has always been giving a deaf ear to it and continue creating same smoke nuisance.

In light of the above facts, you are requested to please intervene in the matter and help.
Thanking you,
Regards,
