“Read Books on Reality Only”

Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? People should read only those books that are about real events, real people, and established facts. Use specific reasons and details to support your opinion.
------------------------------------------

I opine that people must read both types of books, i.e. on real people, places, things and events as well as fiction. Reading books is a creative activity and this adds to our knowledge and information that is useful in our student life and business or domestic life. And the latter one gives us entertainment, amusement, and enjoyment that are equally important for every one.

Fiction is not based entirely upon established facts. More precisely, fiction is an art of imaginative narration. The word fiction is derived from the Latin. Fiction means to form and create. Works of fiction need not be entirely imaginary. Those may include real people, places, and events. Although not all fiction is necessarily artistic, fiction is largely considered as a form of art and entertainment. The ability to create fiction and other artistic works is considered to be a fundamental aspect of human culture, one of the defining characteristics of humanity.

Fiction may include novels, short stories, fables, fairy tales, plays, and poems etc. Now it also includes films, comic books, and video games. The Internet has played a vital role and that has led to new forms of fiction, such as interactive computer games or computer-generated comics. Innumerable forums of fans for fiction can be found online. Here the followers of a specific fictional realms create and distribute derivative stories.

Additionally fiction is used for instructional purposes, like fictional examples used in school textbooks. It is also used for propaganda and advertising. It may be perpetuated by parents and older to instill beliefs and values of old traditions like Santa Claus and other Gods and Goddesses.

In nutshell one must read both types of books and literature.
