Explanation of my hurt and wounded emotion on TV Soap "LADO"

Subject: - TV Serial “LADO” gives wrong and dirty picture of Rajasthan population.

Killing of new born baby girls and the brutal manner in which the village doctor was beaten-up by the Lady’s men and when the victim was rendered totally helpless and unable to creep even, the Lady’s men were shown laughing and enjoying the pathetic scenario. This is a totally wrong and misleading picture of Rajasthan population being projected in TV Soap “LADO”. Furthermore the Lady’s any daughter-in-law delivering a baby girl has to work all through her life as a maid including doctor’s daughter and the kind of cruelty being shown in this soap that horrifies and shakes the nerves of the viewers. This is the gross deterioration of morality and the human values. This is MOST UNFORTUNATE.

This serial may generate hatred towards Rajasthan population in the minds of the other people and they may be scared of building any relations or friendships with Rajasthan guys that is unhealthy, painful, and sad.

I am T D Joshi, from Vadodara (Erstwhile Baroda). I am 67 years. I am born and brought up in Rajasthan and educated there. I had the company of Rajasthanis, Marwaris and Mewaris from my birth up to the age of 25 years. I know this population is little orthodox and staunch believer of the olden value systems. The population can broadly be categorized as educated and uneducated from rural areas. The section of rural population can further be classified in two categories i.e. farmers and laborers. The latter ones are more orthodox and they use to perform child marriages. However in the educate strata there were no child marriages at all. More so, in the uneducated rural labor class the child marriages were popular and they used to dislike baby girls, however said strata was not cruel to girls as it is projected in the TV soap “LADO”.

In the above write-up, I have tried to merely vent and explain my hurt and wounded emotion. Readers may please comment.

It is really a nice idea to travel in a group led by tour guides. In this essay we will see cervices rendered by tour guides and how tourists can be benefited.

Tourist Guide is a person who guides visitors in the language of their choice and interprets the cultural and natural heritage of an area. Guides are representatives of the cities, regions and countries. It depends largely on them if visitors feel welcome, want to stay longer or decide to come back. Guides therefore contribute considerably to the recognition of the destination. Guides are able to help travelers understand the culture of the region visited and the way of life of its inhabitants. Tour Managers lead groups as part of a package holiday into countries where they speak a different language, they act as interpreters for the group and as representatives of the holiday company. Importance is placed on the guide’s knowledge of the languages, travel documentation requirements and cultural differences.

In the nutshell, visiting a new place without a proper guide is like simply wandering and whistling in the dark. Hence it is a nice idea to tour with the guides.

“Group Organizations”

Groups or organizations are an important part of some people’s lives. Why are groups or organizations important to people? Use specific reasons and examples to explain your answer.
--------------------------------------------

A group is defined as a collection of people, who share certain traits, interact with one another, accept expectations and obligations as members of the group, and share a common identity and work for one or more common goals. According to this definition, society appears as a large organization comprising of various groups.

Primary groups’ constitute of small groups with intimate, kith-kin based relationships: families, for example. They commonly last for years. They are small and display face to face interaction. Those who participate in or for study groups focus on adequately functioning their groups with larger organizations, or with the decisions made in these organizations.

Conversely secondary groups are bigger groups where relationships are formal and institutional. Some groups may last for years but some may dissolve after a short time. The primary groups are formed within the secondary group. Individuals almost universally have a bond toward what are known as "Reference Groups". These are the groups to which an individual conceptually relates oneself, and from there, one adopts goals and values as a part of their own self identity. If one brings a small collection of strangers together in a restricted space and environment, provide a common goal, and maybe a few ground rules, a predictable flow of behavior will follow. Interaction between individuals is the basic requirement.

In conclusion, group working is like a team work, where all work for a common goal. Members of a group work in cooperation and it is worth remembering here that nothing can be achieved remaining in isolation. Schools, Colleges and Universities also have Group Discussion as a part of academia. It is evident that how important are the groups and finally a “Group Organization”. Hence group working is most important and highly beneficial.

“Group Member versus Leader”

Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? It is better to be a member of a group than to be the leader of a group. Use specific reasons and examples to support your answer.
-----------------------------------------

I don’t agree that it is better to be a group member. I would prefer to be a leader than a member. If a person has an ability to lead a group he or she may opt to become group leader rather than group member.

By definition a group is the collection of persons. Groups are of various types having different purposes. For example Social Group, Work Group, Student Groups, Quality Circles, Management Group or Business Groups etc. There are many advantages of group working.

In group organizational situations, people tend to take full control of the situation and responsibility for the organization including preparation for the task that needs to be taken care of. Otherwise take no leadership role at all and very dutifully follow commands. As a leader, people tend to be assertive, and demand a lot from fellow members. Leader is equally comfortable organizing and being organized. It is important for the leader to have a strong understanding of own body language from the style of standing, dress code and laughing, these physical elements of one’s persona are a paramount importance.

Advantages of working in groups are: -

· Problem can be solved faster and easier.
· Any time more than one person work together to solve a problem it is usually more efficient.
· When working in a group it allows people to think as one and help others. Problem solving becomes easier when people work together.
· Each member of the group has something unique that one can contribute. Member’s ideas help them to broaden their horizons.

In nut shell I would opt to become leader than a member. I can derive enormous pleasure and self esteem from making things work through my creativity and collaborative process.

“Grades Encourage Students”

Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? Grades (marks) encourage students to learn. Use specific reasons and examples to support your opinion
------------------------------------------------------

I agree that grades encourage students to learn and perform better. Grades are the indicators of the progress made by the student and improvements needed. High grades motivate and encourage pupil to work harder and achieve still higher grades and goals. Furthermore grades indicate as to in what areas student needs to work harder in order to improve. This enables the student to work hard, prepare well for the examination and pass out. This enables student to achieve the goal.

Grading inhibits constructive evaluation. Evaluation of student performance is essential, but it should serve to promote student learning. Ideally, the evaluation process would help students discover their weaknesses and ways to improve upon and achieve important goals.

Probably in some cases, grading might defeat this purpose by causing discouragement in some students, who receive below-average grades. Constructive evaluation encourages students to exert maximum effort by emphasizing their strengths, identifying concrete ways for them to improve, and providing them with positive reinforcement for progress. However “Mandatory Grading” may not promote critical thinking and long-term retention.

Competitive grading system emphasizes more on judging rather than learning. Assigning competitive grades adversely affects student-teacher relationship by turning teachers into students' enemies that justifies inadequate teaching methods, trivializing course content, encouraging evaluation methods that misdirect and inhibit student learning, and rewarding teachers.

In nutshell, grading should be fair and inhibit constructive evaluation. Evaluation of student performance is essential, and it should serve to promote student learning. Ideally, the evaluation process would help students to identify their weaknesses and take appropriate ways to improve upon and achievement of important goals.

“Good Roommate’s Qualities”

Many students have to live with roommate while going to school or university. What are some of the important qualities of a good roommate? Use specific reasons and examples to explain why these qualities are important.
--------------------------------------

Majority students live with roommate while studying in school or university. In this essay we shall look at some important qualities of a good roommate.

We as human beings live in a society and we are all social creatures. In the dorms, we all have some roommate and in turn we are roommate to them. We live in one room, we communicate with them and so they do. Everyone would like a sensible and trustworthy roommate. Good roommates try and help each other how best they can and solve problems of each other with mutually. A roommate must be reliable, honest, trustworthy, and cooperative. Conversely our roommate also expects equal reciprocation.

While we may be too far away from our parents, brothers, sisters and close relatives or friends, depending upon our location, but roommate is the one who is nearest to us. Hence in any unforeseen and uncalled for contingency like our sickness, an accidental injury it is the roommate who comes forward and helps us the most. Here I am reminded of a proverb “A Good Roommate Is a Priceless Treasure”.
However some roommate may be little reserved and introvert. Those are shy kind of guys; instead of face to face talks; they like to use telephone or the cell phone for that matter. This slightly reduces the personal touch in human relation. This situation must be tackled gently with love and affection rather than scolding and yelling. Nobody anyway likes roommate’ disturb, annoy and cause troubles to them or they unnecessarily interfere in their matters hence we as good roommates must avoid to do so.

In conclusion some good qualities of a roommate are reliability, honesty, trustworthiness, and cooperation. At the same time we too must equally reciprocate for an everlasting friendship.
