“Problems When Students Move To New School”

When students move to a new school, they sometimes face problems. How can schools help these students with their problems? Use specific reasons and examples to explain your answer.
----------------------------------

As students progress in grades, they face challenges. In addition to changing academic and social demands, they experience physical and emotional changes. Although children are continually engaged in the process of adapting to new challenges, educators and health professionals agree that certain critical transition points are stressful and require support. Parents and educators help children cope effectively with their varied school experiences.

Physical and emotional challenges: For many children, schooling requires the first prolonged separation from parents. Children may be required to sit quietly for short periods at table and listen to directions. Students must share activities, supplies, and attention, and relate to new children. The transition to the grade school may require moving to a new building and a longer school day. Students adjusting to the routine and structure of the school day develop sense of responsibility for completion of assignments and homework. In the early grades, children adjust to a world outside the home. They form new friendships, learn teamwork and may develop special interests and skills.

Mastery of the fundamentals needed for the rest of their school careers is required. Children acquire basic reading and math ability; they learn computation, how to read words and how to read for meaning. They are required to answer questions about whom, what, and where, which gives them information about character, plot and setting.

Summarizing, teachers help students by anticipating causes of stress and normalizing the experiences. This is how students are helped minimize any negative impact. When the new school year starts, teachers can prepare children for the transition by arranging visits to the new school, scheduling meetings with new teaching personnel. Once the school year starts, a big sibling program can help teaming up a new student with older ones.

“Problems & Benefits of living with a roommate.“

What are the problems of living with a roommate in college? Is it better than living alone?
-----------------------------

Many students are obliged to share accommodation with another student while in college. Sharing may seem awkward at first, but it may prove to be a very good experience. In this essay, the benefits and disadvantages of living with a roommate will be discussed, as well as the qualities needed in a good roommate.

If you have never shared with someone, you may have some difficulties adjusting. You may find that the other person is very different in character and he or she doesn't suit you as a companion. It is essential to try to understand each other and make living together more pleasant and even fun.

Yes, fun, because there are many positive aspects to sharing. New students are often far away from their families and friends, and may experience loneliness and homesickness. Both may also be facing new challenges in their studies. Sharing offers companionship to people who might otherwise have to face these problems alone. Furthermore, since college is not just about academic learning, sharing is an opportunity to develop communication skills so that a good atmosphere is established. Both students can learn from each other about new interests and explore new activities. In fact, the most desirable feature when living with someone else is respect for the other person's needs.

In conclusion, I think that there are more benefits than disadvantages in having a roommate, but it depends on both dealing with concerns honestly and sensitively in order to make student life as happy as possible.

“Prevent Road Accidents”

A large number of deaths are caused by road accidents. Why do so many accidents occur?
Make recommendations that would help to reduce the number of road accidents. -Write minimum 250 Words.
-----------------------------------

Frequent road accidents cause many deaths. It is much more vital to find the root causes of it instead of the remedies. Root causes can be human failure, bad road condition, and use of sick vehicles.

Human failure can be like driving without license, driving vehicles with worn out tires, driving vehicles without proper maintenance, using wrong fuel and last but not least driving under the state of intoxication of drugs and alcohol. Correction of those drawbacks shall greatly help in preventing accidents and fatalities.

Because of numerous vehicles movements, wear and tear on the road is excessive. At the same time digging of roads in an absolutely uncoordinated and haphazard manner by Electric Supply companies, Telephone companies and Pipeline companies cause degradation of the roads. Said deterioration of the road condition must be made good by Road Authorities from time to time that shall prevent the fatal road accidents.

There has to be a government body that periodically inspects the vehicles for its roadworthiness. Only those vehicles that are certified must be allowed to ply on roads and none other. This shall help greatly in preventing road accidents and the deaths.

Summarizing, drivers must be fully trained for safe driving practices. Drivers must be trained not to resort to offensive driving, they should be taught to do drive soberly always. Drivers must be trained not resort to acrobatics and horseplay while driving on roads. Last but not least the most latest deadly devil responsible for fatal road accidents is the use of cell phones (mobile phones) while driving that has to be avoided in totality.

As migration from rural areas to cities continues, it is inevitable that the infrastructure in these cities will collapse.
To what extent do you agree or disagree to this statement?

I agree that in late twentieth century, numerous people have moved to cities from rural areas. Said rise in city population puts unprecedented demands like housing, water, vehicles, schools, colleges, hospitals and higher waste disposal facilities etc. This is causing undue pressure on infrastructure that may even collapse.

Man, through the ages, has undergone innumerable changes from time to time. In the ancient times man lived in the jungles in caves and hutments made by wild grass and vegetation. Now many live in beautiful houses with all facilities and amenities of the life. The 20th century made giant leaps towards progress and development of businesses, industries, medicines and health care, transportation, information technology, media and on all the dimensions. “Plants Provide Food, Shelter, Clothing and Medicine”

Plants can provide food, shelter, clothing, or medicine. What is one kind of plant that is important to you or the people in your country? Use specific reasons and details to explain your choice.
------------------------

Plants provide us with food, shelter, clothing, medicines, and even the air we breathe! In this essay I will elaborate some of the ways that people rely on plants.

Plants provide healthy ecosystems that perform functions, like purifying air and water. Green plants harness energy from sunlight through the process of photosynthesis. With every breath we take, we get the oxygen that is by-product of that reaction. Plants also play a role in the water cycle.

Furthermore, plants provide the food. Even the carnivorous animals, like lions, need plants, because the preys they consume are plant eaters. Wheat, Rice, Pulses and all crops including vegetables like cabbage, potatoes, carrots, peas etc are the byproducts of plants that are consumed by human as principal food.

Besides, plants also provide protection and shelter. The wood from trees is used in the construction of many of our homes. Cotton and other plants provide us with the materials we used to make many of the clothes we wear.

In addition, plants are used for making medicines. Particularly Indian Ayurvedic medical science makes all medicines from plants and herbs. Aloe-vera is a plant that is used in cosmetic products and medicines for skin troubles.

Over and above, Bio-diesel is a diesel-equivalent that is processed fuel derived from biological sources (such as vegetable oils). This can be used in unmodified diesel-engine vehicles.

Before we conclude, Corn supplies hidden ingredients in products ranging from soap, glue, and pencil erasers to bath powder, nail polish remover, and plastics. Ingredients in many cosmetics and body lotions, such as aloe and jojoba, are also derived from plants. In nutshell, plants can provide us food, shelter, clothes, medicines and many more.

“Plan Free Time Activities”

Some people prefer to plan activities for their free time very carefully. Others choose not to make any plans at all for their free time. Compare the benefits of planning free-time activities with the benefits of not making plans. Which do you prefer - planning or not planning for your leisure time? Use specific reasons and examples to explain your choice.
-----------------------------------------

I prefer planning the activities regardless they are related to business or free time. Planning is a fundamentally intelligent behavior. A psychological process of thinking about the activities required to be performed in a given time frame.

Planning is an anticipatory decision making process that helps in coping with the available time and money. It is selection of missions, objectives and translation of knowledge into action. A planned performance brings better results compared to unplanned one. “He, Who Fails To Plan, Plans To Fail”. Planning is deciding in advance what to do, how to do it, when to do it. It bridges the gap from where the organization is to where it wants to be. The planning function involves establishing goals and arranging them in logical order. A plan can play a vital role in helping to avoid mistakes or recognize hidden opportunities. Preparing a satisfactory plan is essential. The planning process enables one to understand more clearly what one want to achieve, and how and when one can do it.

In a well-prepared plan the doer knows what he or she has thought of, what is the time available for the activities, what are the funds available. Depending on all those factors one can decide what to do, when to do, how to do and last but not least when to finish it up with all the available resources. This will be most enjoyable if it is for free time activities.

In conclusion, even from our “Kinder Garden” days we are taught to have a “Time Table” and strictly follow that. A time table is a plan for performing our activities. Hence we should do all our activities whether free time or business in a well planned manner.

“Physical Exercise Every School Day”

Some people say that physical exercise should be a required part of every school day. Other people believe that students should spend the whole school day on academic studies. Which opinion do you agree with? Use specific reasons and details to support your answer.
----------------------------------------

I agree that physical exercise must be a part of every day, not only during school career, but physical exercises must be the part of everyday schedule for the entire life. Physical exercises one can do by performing gym exercises or playing games and sports. Simplest and the best exercise is early morning walk in natural setting. In this essay we will see all about physical exercises and its importance to students as well as adults.

Games are means of entertainment and physical exercise for students as well as adults. Playing games improves physical and mental health. Furthermore playing games has very good effect on the mental as well as physical health of the individual regardless of age. Regular exercises keeps us physically fit always hence it is most vital aspect of our lives. Remember “Health is Wealth”.

Studying for long periods during school hours may become very tiresome, monotonous and boring for the students. In order to refresh students they must be given time to play games and sports or the physical exercises during school hours on daily basis. There must be a scheduled games period in daily time-table of school. Furthermore, in this computer systems era, education is also highly demanding, students are overloaded with books and reading materials. Many of the students have to remain glued to their computers for long hours and adults too are awfully busy in business activities and other family and social obligations. There is a considerable lack of physical exercise in our lives. Sedentary lifestyle gives rise to problems of obesity; overweight; and muscular pains. If those people include exercises or games as a part of their daily schedule; those health problems shall be minimized.

In nutshell daily exercises is important for students and adults too.

“Pets”

Many people have a close relationship with their pets. These people treat their birds, cats, or other animals as members of their family. In your opinion, are such relationships good? Why or why not? Use specific reasons and examples to support your answer.
-----------------------------------------

Pets are an important part of our lives. Most popular pets world wide are dog, cat and parrot. Animal lovers treat them in par with the dearest family member. I am also a dog lover and I have a dog named Hardy, nine years old Spitz. I love my dog.

I have read of a lady who suffered breast cancer. When her Oncologist most reluctantly gave to understand that she may live for three more months, she was shocked. She went and bought many pets of her choice and started playing with them in her back yard. Unaware of the time, after half a year when she went for another checkup, to the utter surprise of the Oncologist and her, she showed no sign of breast cancer. Cancer was gone.

Pets help reducing mental tension and anxiety. It is recommended in management books also to keep pet that retards mental tension and undue worry and anxiety among top brass that can cause them peptic ulcer. Dogs take care of your house, farm, and property. Dogs in particular are very possessive. They help you to overcome the loneliness and give good company.

Similarly dogs do help handicap people like blind, amputees or polio sufferers by guiding them the way and even helping them move by pulling their wheel chairs. It would not be out of place to mention here that dogs do take care of sheep and cattle and those dogs are known as German Shepherds.

In nutshell pets are most loyal, absolutely undemanding and still they give unconditional love that is most superior to all. They are an important part of our own daily lives and contribute often unmeasured benefits to our mental health. We must love our pets.

“Personal Happiness & Relationships”

In achieving personal happiness, our relationships with other people (family, friends, and colleagues) are most important than anything else. Issues such as work and wealth take second place.
Do you agree or disagree? ---- Write minimum 250 Words.
--------------------------------------------------------

I fully agree with the statement that for achieving personal happiness our relationships are the paramount importance. Every one strives for happiness and I am no exception.

Family members are the ones with whom we spend major portion of our lives and so they do. They are our number one supporters in this world. We love them the most and vice versa. They are closest in relation to us. We must have very strong relationship with our family members.

Friends occupy positions of extreme importance in our lives. Friends can have great influence over many areas of our emerging identity. Our choice of music, movies, clothes, boyfriends or girlfriends, classes, jobs, and so on. In some case, it doesn’t stop here; it also covers the personal standards of behavior, our performance, morals and values. This makes it especially important for us to maintain good friendship.

Furthermore, identical to friends, colleagues also have a great influence on our lives even if they don't realize it, just by spending time with us. We learn from them, and vice versa. It's only human nature to listen to and learn from other people. Colleagues can have a positive influence on each other. Colleagues build a sense of trust, respect, and mutual support and they are no different than friends.

In conclusion, key to building strong relationships with family, friends and colleagues, our interpersonal communication is a paramount importance and “Top Priority”. However all other issues like business work and wealth get second priority. Interpersonal communication skills gives greater self confidence; one can win the heart of his or her dream partner, or save the marriage, one can manage the staff and deal with people outside of the organization and achieve personal happiness.

“People Work for Money”

People work because they need money to live. What are some other reasons that people work? Discuss one or more of these reasons. Use specific examples and details to support your answer.
--------------------------------------------

The main reason for working with majority of population is earning money. However some exceptional individual may have some different reasons for working.

The reasons for working are as individual as the person. Nevertheless, we all work because we obtain something that we need from work. Reward thus obtained from the work impacts morale, motivation, and the quality of life. Some people work for personal fulfillment; others work for love of what they do. Others work to accomplish goals and to feel as if they are contributing to something larger than themselves. The bottom line is that we all work for money and for reasons too individual to assign similarities to all workers. Frederick Irving Herzberg a noted psychologist, who became one of the most influential names in business management, considers that 'feelings of self-improvement, achievement, and the desire for the acceptance of greater responsibility' are more important than money to the people.

In contrast, very interestingly, Directors have all the job satisfaction they need or want. They carry considerable responsibility and success often depends on individual effort. They have nicely and often luxuriously furnished offices, dine in the directors' dining room, have the benefit of a company car and last but not least work with pleasant colleagues in a pleasant way. It is because they have all the job satisfaction, what they want is money that is more important to them.

In a nutshell different people have different motivation and objectives behind work. Hence it cannot be generalized that people work only for money.

“People Do What They Know, Others Prefer To Do New Things”

Some people like to do only what they already do well. Other people prefer to try new things and take risks. Which do you prefer? Use specific reasons and examples to support your choice.
-----------------------------------------------

Form my experience and information; I strongly believe that people who succeeded in life had to work hard. They adopted the new ways and changed their modus operandi accordingly from time to time and gained more knowledge and experience in order to achieve their goals. In the contrast other group of people who went on doing the same things all their life that they knew well, those never improved in the direction of progress and advancement.

First of all, people who want to succeed must constantly update and improve their knowledge and gain more experience. Moreover, they must be the best at their profession. So, they need to try new things, take calculated risks sometimes and change way of working and work hard.

Prior to computerization era people use to do all paper work manually. This would generate tremendous amount of written data in the form of papers and bulk of files. Recalling a data was a real time consuming and a difficult task. One had to struggle a lot to search and find relevant data. Also such a bulk of records needed several record rooms to be constructed and money was spent towards real estate.

With computerization all these hassles have gone and the entire data; current and past can be stored on compact laptops and compact discs for that matter. If a person does not learn computer operation and adopt it he or she is great loser in this scenario. Those who have learnt computer operation and adopted it are the gainers.

In conclusion one must not merely cling to the things he or she knows but one must keep learning new things and keep pace with the time to be a gainer and winner.

“People Are Never Satisfied”

Do you agree with the following statement? People are never satisfied with what they have; they always want something more or something different. Use specific reasons to support your answer.
-------------------------------------------------

I fully agree that people are never satisfied with what they have; they always want more.

Profoundly everyone wants to feel love, but none wants to give it without the hope of some reward or returns. Everyone wants to be fulfilled with something and the said fulfillment vanishes very swiftly thus one never feels contended. Rightly a thing that is meant to satisfy us and give us pleasure stops doing so after an interval. Hence no one is ever satisfied with what he or she possesses rather one starts visualizing the next want.

When everything one achieves stops exciting him or her then one keeps thinking about how much he or she misses and how imperfect the life is without it. So it is not only that one can’t enjoy what one has achieved, but one also sinks deep into a perpetual pleasure hunt. The problem is not that one wants too much or that one wants to take over the whole world to experience everything. The real problem is that even if one would achieve this, dissatisfaction shall still persist. It is because one feels more unfulfilled, unhappy and bored simply because the desires keep growing and one wants endlessly more and more.

What you need is a desire that will never stop fulfilling you. It has to fulfill you endlessly, making you feel more and more pleasure. It shouldn’t fade away once achieved, but on the contrary, upon achieving it, the pleasure should increase.

In conclusion the desires must be in perfect balance with the environment. In addition to all the basic wants of sex, hunger, thirst, shelter, sleep, family, money, honor, power and knowledge, any additional desires and wants are unnecessary.

“Past Difficult but Valuable Experiences”

Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? Most experiences in our lives that seemed difficult at the time become valuable lessons for the future. Use reasons and specific examples to support your answer.
-----------------------------------------

I agree most experiences in our lives that seemed difficult initially are today available to us in the form of facilities and amenities to us, without which we can’t imagine our lives. Many important discoveries of 20th century seemed difficult initially are now available for the benefit of the mankind. Those are valuable lessons for future generations too. At an outset the most prominent ones are the, Computerization and Space Travel.

During the industrial revolution, technologic discovery and advancement also increased continuously. The steam engine has been replaced by diesel- and gasoline-fueled engines, which replaced older forms of energy used. The emergence of electric power and its widespread use caused an upsurge in technology that required minimum manpower and man-hours to complete the tasks that were earlier being carried out manually. The invention of the computer chip followed by various discoveries brought about more advancement the implementation of which facilitated the efficiency of a multitude of applications.

Radio, television, and telephone are the most important discoveries. Communication devices had a profound impact on the culture, economy, and lifestyle. People have been able to watch events as they unfold, keep track of economic trends, and communicate with people globally. Media and entertainment have all benefited due to advancements in communication field. Gaps of time and distance have been bridged during 20th century, bringing people, countries, and businesses closer.

“Parents Are the Best Teachers”

Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? Parents are the best teachers. Use specific reasons and examples to support your answer.
----------------------------------------

I agree that parents are the best teachers. In this essay we will see how parents are the best teachers.

It is the environment that gives shape to any personality. Hence every newly born baby sees the surrounding where one opens the eyes. Child listens to what is spoken in the house and child imitates all what he or she perceives from the environment. Quite obvious the builders of any such environment are the parents. If parents in a house are very loving, caring, soft spoken, non smokers, and teetotaler and disciplined, child learns to imitate and reproduce good things. Conversely if parents are smokers, drinkers, quarrelsome, using offensive language and undisciplined, child would learn bad things like smoking, drinking, quarreling, abusing etc. and shall imitate and reproduce those behaviors. Parents are the one with whom children spend majority of time and hence parents are the real character builders of their children.

As per theory of Human Psychology, whatever a child sees, experiences, hears, and speaks and feels up to the age of five that has everlasting and life long impression in the mind of a child. If all those impressions are healthy and good child turns out to be a good personality or else the other way.

In a nutshell, after the preliminary fundamentally sound education in home when the child goes to school one performs well and progresses consistently. In the later years of a child’s education, parents must devote some time for their children to educate them. This shall have a very positive impact on the tender minds of the children and they will perform well. Needless to say “Parents Are the Best Teachers”.

“Own a Business or Do a Job”

Some people prefer to work for themselves or own a business. Others prefer to work for an employer. Would you rather be self-employed, work for someone else, or own a business? Use specific reasons to explain your choice.
-------------------------------------------------

I am a retired Manager from a government organization. I feel persons need change with the time. Whether to opt for a job, or be self employed or start own business shall depend on various factors as elaborated below.

Establishing own business calls for two main resources like Capital and experience. Further more education is a paramount importance for success. If one has studied well the, demand and supply factor, competition, safety factor, and he or she has an aptitude for business with enough capital resource one can start and establish own business. To start with a business afresh one must know his or her risk appetite too and then only decide. The best thing in business that I like the most is that one is master of his or her own.

Coming to fixed hour job, one need not bother about the capital availability and risk. According to ones qualification and experience employer may or may not appoint one.
Job is usually fixed hour job and any extra hours worked are paid as overtime wage and conversely in case of absenteeism wages are deducted which sounds quite fair. Jobs are ideal for acquiring work experience that becomes a most valuable asset for an individual.

Furthermore for those who retire from jobs, I feel most ideal is to be self employed. I know many pensioners who run their coaching classes in various subjects; secondly they operate as freelancers agents with many insurance companies and finance brokers; stock brokers or the mutual fund brokers. Those freelancers get in proportion to what they give and are masters of their own. They enjoy a feel of freedom and self actualization.

In nutshell one may chose the right alternative depending upon ones need and resources.

Describe a custom from your country that you would like people from other countries to adopt. Explain your choice, using specific reasons and examples.
--------------------------------------------------------------------

Conflicts in our life are inevitable. Though undesirable, they form a part of our life. We inadvertently sometime hurt some one in family; at business or in society; this gives rise to conflicts. These days no one finds any time to resolve conflicts though it must be done. In this essay I will describe an Indian customary festival meant specifically for conflict resolution.

This Indian custom and festival is unique. This festival is not meant for any worldly pleasures, prosperity or enjoyment. The purpose of this festival is related to some blessed deeds. This festival is known as “Paryushana”. It is observed for eight days. During this people worry little about their profession or business rather they engage themselves more into religious activities and spiritual advancement. The whole community is engrossed in various religious activities. Indians voluntarily control over their food habits and other worldly enjoyment, and regularly attend the religious discourses and listen to scriptures, so that they can have interface with words of the God. They forget enmities and cultivate a genuine spirit of friendship and forgiveness.

During this festival, there is an environment of worship, devotion, penance. People visit temples and worship The God. People listen to the religious discourse. They also listen to the life-stories of The God. Indians especially celebrate a day on which Lord’s birth is narrated. The last day of this festival is colloquially known as “Michhami Dukkadam” that means “Forgiveness Day”. On this day people apologize and request each other to be pardoned for any thing that might have hurt him or her in past.

In Conclusion, I feel this custom of “Forgiveness Day” must be observed world over. This shall reduce tension and resolve conflicts this makes life full of peace and harmony.

“Opinions of Famous People and Celebrities”

When famous people such as actors, athletes and rock stars give their opinions, many people listen. Do you think we should pay attention to these opinions? Use specific reasons and examples to support your answer.
-------------------------------------------------

I agree people listen to the opinions given celebrities such as actors, athletes, and rock stars. Whether to pay attention to those opinions is a million dollar question. Not all opinions are right nor all are wrong. It is a mixture of right and wrong. We may surely pay attention but whether to act according to their advice or not must be decided by us after giving a careful thought.

Numerous companies through celebrities and media try to canvass the population to buy their products and or services by way of very attractive advertisements. Actors, Rock-stars, Cricketers etc who appear in these advertisements are paid millions of dollars for each advertisement. Similarly many times actors and film stars are used by politicians for their election campaigns and canvassing. Not all stated by those celebrities is right. People must think before buying a product or service whether they need it at all, its affordability, usefulness and quality. Likewise before voting for a particular party or the person its past performance, the achievements and whether the party or person deserves to be elected.

Many advertisements show film stars smoking particular brand of cigarettes or consuming a particular brand of hard liquor. Such messages quite mislead the population thereby dragging younger generation into get into those evils of alcoholism, smoking and drug addiction that is absolutely undesirable.

In nutshell, not all opinions given by celebrities are right nor are all wrong. It is a mixture of right and wrong. We can surely pay attention but to accept it or not depends upon us. We may decide whether to act according to their advice or not after carefully thinking on the pros and cons.

It has been said, “Not everything that is learned is contained in books.” Compare and contrast knowledge gained from experience with knowledge gained from books. In your opinion, which source is more important? Why?
*************************

Books are the precious source of information and knowledge. Nevertheless it is a proven fact that “Not everything that is learned is contained in books.” For example a baby right from the birth starts experiencing and learning things like uttering words mama papa initially and than start speaking the language that is spoken in the house without reading any books on that “Spoken Language”. Whereas the subjects like Science, Mathematics, Drawing, Literature, History, Civics, Social Studies, Computer Application, etc one needs to have school admission, and read books to learn.

No one reads any book on “How to ride a bicycle” yet every one learns. In the process one may tumble down from bicycle get bruised, bleed a little and yet learn riding a bike and master it for that purpose by experience only. In contrast none should take risk and start repairs of an Electric line without acquiring knowledge of “Electrical Engineering.”
Said knowledge can not be acquired without help of books on that subject matter.

For subjects like Engineering, Medicine, Surgery, Aeronautics, Law, Finance, Audits, Management etc the basic and fundamental knowledge can only be gained with the help of books. Whereas in contrast the individual professionals’ during the course of practicing the above, professionals gain immense practical experience of dealing with the most critical contingencies like saving human and animal lives, saving men, material, money and property during fire-fighting operations and in many more rescue operations like that. Needles to say all these may not necessarily be available in books.

In conclusion both are equally important i.e. learning from books as well as learning from experience.

“Never Judge a Person by External Appearances”

Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? One should never judge a person by external appearances. Use specific reasons and details to support your answer.
--------------------------------------

I agree that one should never judge a person based on his or her appearance only. Nevertheless whenever we meet an unknown person, our first judgment – unwillingly and often subconsciously – starts from his or her external appearance. Almost every aspect of it can be regarded as some kind of clue: for instance, clothing and hairstyle tell something about social status and personal fashion, facial expression and gestures indicate the emotional state of mind.

Yet all those features are superficial and changeable, and therefore we should not make any judgment about the inner nature and character of a person by which his or her personality and identity are defined. Since character shows itself only in words and deeds, it would need a long-term observation for a right judgment. Hence it is better not to take judgment of a person merely on his or her external appearance.

I would mention my own case for further clarity on the subject matter. I know a lady wife of a big doctor in my company. I visited doctor’s house for greeting them on New Year’s Day. I greeted the family; doctor met me warmly, waived his hand, greeted me and shook hand with me. The lady simply nodded her head downwards. The first impression obviously would be that she is an egoistic and proud lady and that’s what I too thought. Later on I came to know that she suffered extensive fire burns in the past and movements of her hands were restricted.

In conclusion we must not judge the person in totality simply on his or her appearance.

----------------------------------

Art and music are very creative and vast subjects. However it is not necessary that everyone shall be a good musician or good at art. Hence music and art as compulsory subjects sound to be wrong.

It is nice if schools have infrastructure facilities to teach art and music. Those who have a deep aptitude for art and music can take-up those subjects and even master those for that matter. At the same time making subjects of music and art as compulsory, may take a considerable amount of time and energy of students which otherwise he or she can devote towards main subjects like, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, etc. Devoting time to main subjects is a paramount importance for success in the examinations and future career. Movies are popular all over the world. Explain why movies are so popular. Use reasons and specific examples to support your answer.
-------------------------------------------------------

Movies are the biggest and most popular sources of entertainment and amusement. Films are musicals, and contain catchy music in the form of song-and-dance numbers woven into the script. A film's success depends on the quality of such musical numbers. Indeed, a film's music is often released before the movie itself to attract the higher audience. Audiences expect full value for their money with a good entertainment. Songs and dances, love triangles, comedy and dare-devil thrills and all are mixed up in a two to three hour long extravaganza with an intermission these movies are a mixture of many things.

The films frequently employ formulaic ingredients such as star-crossed lovers, apprehensive and angry parents, love triangles, family ties, sacrifice, corrupt politicians, kidnappers, conniving villains, courtesans with hearts of gold, long-lost relatives and siblings separated by fate, dramatic reversals of fortune, and convenient coincidences.
Bollywood is the informal name given to the popular Mumbai-based Hindi-language film industry in India. There have always been Indian films with more artistic aims and more sophisticated stories, both inside and outside the tradition. Bollywood conventions are changing, however. A large number of Indian emigrants in English speaking countries, and the increased Western influence at home, have nudged Bollywood films closer to Hollywood models. In the movies, kisses are no longer banned. Plots now tend to feature Westernized urbanites dating and dancing in clubs rather than arranged marriages. Liberal kissing and sexy scenes are the main source of attraction in films.

In conclusion every one may have some reservations at home, friend circle, business circle and social circle for his or her entertainment whereas those limitations are no obstacle when one watches a movie in a cinema hall which is why movies are so popular.

“Most Important Characteristic of Successful Person”

In your opinion, what is the most important characteristic (for example, honesty, intelligence, and a sense of humor) that a person can have to be successful in life? Use specific reasons and examples from your experience to explain your answer. When you write your answer, you are not limited to the examples listed in the question.
----------------------------------------------

I opine that to be successful in life a person must have strong desire for success. So long as other characteristics are concerned, a successful person may have some traits that I will discuss in this essay.

Successful people have a dream, desire, ambition and a strong motivation towards achievement. Besides, they are well focused towards goal and have ability to get the things done. Furthermore successful people take full responsibility for their actions and they are strong decision makers. Over and above, successful people find solutions to problems. Those people have the courage to admit honestly if they’ve made a mistake and they are self-reliant. Successful people have specific knowledge, intelligence, training, skills and talents. Those people work with and cooperate with other team members and last but not least they are enthusiastic.

Humor is the ability or quality of a person to evoke feelings of amusement in other people. A sense of humor is the ability to experience humor, a quality which all people share, however the extent depends upon an individual. Sense of humor is not a prerequisite for a man to be successful, but if one possesses this trait shall be an added qualification.

To conclude, some humorous quotes: -

• I was always unlawful; I broke the law when I was born because my parents weren't married. --- George Bernard Shaw
• A government that robs Peter to pay Paul can always depend on the support of Paul. --- George Bernard Shaw
• The first man to compare the cheeks of a young woman to a rose was obviously a poet; the first to repeat it was possibly an idiot. --- Salvador Dali

“Most Important Animal”

What is the most important animal in your country? Why is the animal important? Use reasons and specific details to explain your answer.
----------------------------------------------------

Bovine is the category of animal that is most important in India. Bovine includes cattle, cow, ox, buffalo etc. Reasons for their importance are elaborated in following paragraphs.

Animals were used to help mankind do work long before we had machines. Without these animals perhaps civilizations would not rise. Animals help the people in India for transportation of heavy goods across the deserts. Animals give food, meat and milk, etc; besides animal skins and fur were used for clothing. In the absence of those animals perhaps the civilization of India could not have risen.

The cow is considered to be a most sacred, holy and well respected animal in India even today. Since ages mankind consumes cow-milk as a food. Long ago in India's early history the cow provided food for the family and was a symbol of wealth. Oxen are employed for transportation; pulling carts and cultivating the fields for raising crops and allied agricultural purposes. Even today the Hindu religion especially protects the sacred cow. No Hindu would ever eat cow meat; on the contrary Hindus would support the need to carefully protect them as important symbols in Indian society.

In some parts of India like Rajasthan and Kutch there are large desserts. The inhabitants there employ camels for transportation of men and materials. Elephants were born in the wild, but sometimes men caught and tamed them. These elephants pulled trees for building houses, carried heavy loads.

Summarizing, the cow is considered most sacred and important animal in India. Its protection is a paramount theme. Most Hindus respect the cow as a motherly figure for her gentle qualities and providing nurturing milk and its products for a largely vegetarian diet. It holds an honored place in society.

“Money versus Success”

Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? Only people who earn a lot of money are successful. Use specific reasons and examples to support your answer.
----------------------------------------------

Certainly money is vital. But to say only those people who earn a lot of money are successful is not right. In my opinion those who know how to retain money for long periods and how to multiply money are the successful people. Additionally successful people know how to make money work for them.

There is a direct relationship between innovation and the money. More innovative a person is more successful he or she is. Assertiveness is a quality that is very important in achieving one’s goals. In order to get what one wants in life one has to try hard and develop all these qualities. Another important step in becoming successful is having a career planning. Networking greatly helps in career planning. Through networking and developing maximum number of contacts, one brightens his or her chances of success.

Innovation, assertiveness, career planning, networking, communication skills and relation building lead to “success” resulting into high money inflow but the converse may not be true. To achieve the common goal of success it is necessary to use all of the preceding ideas. By learning to build relationships one learn to deal with different types of people in different situations and therefore enable himself or herself to thrive well in working situations and in everyday life.

In conclusion, although with a great deal of money things can move forward with one’s development. Money is important to be able to carry out plans; however more money doesn’t always lead to greater success. Hence neither money can buy success nor can money be equated with success.

“Money & Friendship”

Some people believe that it harms a friendship when one borrows money from a friend.

Do you agree or disagree with this opinion and why? Use specific reasons and details to support your view.
---------------------------------------

I strongly agree to the above. In this essay I shall elaborate my view point.

First of all in this time of money crises every one is under great pressure. None has spare money to lend. Secondly everyone must plan expenses in proportion to one’s earnings. In bare necessity one can take loan from banks. People do not want to borrow from money lenders and banks because of three reasons: - (a) Payment of high interest rate, (b) Time bound repayment, (c) Failure to repay results into penal interest and legal litigations and court cases. When one borrows from a friend there is no payment of interest, borrower is least bothered about time bound payment because lender friend shall not resort to legal action though he suffers money hardships. Asking a friend to lend money reflects sheer selfish motive of the borrower. “Selfishness & Friendship can’t go together”. In light of friendship lender friend may not remind for returning money thus relations may be strained.

Also money is the root of all evils. Any hot argument in connection with, return of money between two friends may result into offences like stabbing or killing thereby resulting into miserable consequences for rest of the life.

Summarizing, I strongly opine that one should always “cut according to cloth” and spend in proportion to ones income. Secondly one must save regularly in order to meet with any contingencies. After all a friend also have his own expenses and responsibilities towards his or her family. It is not at all justified to borrow money from friends and any such borrowing money may harm the friendship.

“Modern Technology and Culture”

Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? Modern technology is creating a single world culture. Use specific reasons and examples to support your opinion
------------------------------------------

I fully agree that modern technology has created single and a unique world culture. New “Information Technology” including Internet, television, electronic media, cell phones etc has a great impact on creating an identical culture all around the globe. In this essay I will elaborate my viewpoint.

First of all, Internet and e-mail have changed the way people communicate with each other. Internet has brought many benefits. It is a new means of communication, a very fast access to information and news. People communicate with each other, share their ideas and interact on business or personal matters as the need may be. People have a great opportunity to find out more about countries and their history or businesses on websites. Complete learning and teaching is being done with the help of computers. Businesses like buying / selling / trading in equities, banking, rail, road, air bookings including the business of health monitoring and medical treatment are fully taken over by computers.

Even the good old saying, “Marriages Are Made in Heaven”, has now been replaced by “Marriages Are Made on Internet”. Furthermore greeting on Christmas, New Year, Easter, New Condominiums, Baby Birth, Weddings, Anniversaries, and many more occasions are conveyed simply by sending e-cards. Conventional stationery cards are obsolete now. Similarly no one uses now bulky and fixed wall mounted or stationary telephones all those have been replaced by cell phones now. Those cell phones have all the features of a personal computer including internet access through wireless. People can anywhere at any point of time access the information they like.

In nut shell, Information Technology and Computerization has brought in a single and unique world culture.

“Men and Women Approach Academic Study”

Some people argue that there are no fundamental differences between the way men and women approach academic study. Others insist that there are big differences in areas such as organization, attitude, and ambition, and that these differences inevitably have an impact on student life. What are your opinions on this? (Write minimum 250 words)
--------------------------------------------------------------

I opine that there are definite fundamental gender based differences in approach of males and females to their academic studies. It is generally seen that compared to majority of male high school students, female students drop out of school at lower rates, they do well and attend college in proportionately greater numbers. At college, women earn better grades, exhibit higher retention and graduation rates, and earn the majority of baccalaureate and master’s degrees. There is a basic gender differences in the academic abilities of college bound students.

However males hold a slight advantage over females on English and reading portions of the college entrance test. Males do well in English, math, social studies, natural sciences, and overall. At the same time female students also might perform better in English. But some female graduates also report superior grades in two academic areas; math and natural sciences. Nevertheless the successful transition between high school and college is measured by the college-going rate. The college-going rate is an important indicator of participation and educational attainment.

In general females have a greater sense of responsibility than males. They perform the job a homemaker and that is one of the toughest jobs. A male bread earner has to satisfy one boss whereas the housewife has to satisfy many masters. It is my observation that even in schools and colleges in India female students do overall far better than the male counterparts. Ladies are generally soft and sweet spoken with very mild temperament because of this quality they get good jobs in service industries like healthcare, hospitality etc and male members get high paying jobs in engineering and construction etc because of their sturdy built.

“Meet Famous Person from History”

If you could travel back in time to meet a famous person from history, what person would you like to meet? Use specific reasons and examples to support your choice.
---------------------------------------------

If I could travel back in time to meet a famous person from history, I would like to meet Late Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. I am a great admirer and fan of him because of the immense tolerance that he possessed against all odds of life.

Vallabhbhai Patel (31 October 1875 – 15 December 1950) was a political and social leader of India who played a major role in the country's struggle for independence and guided its integration into a united, independent nation. In India and across the world, he was often addressed as “Sardar” which means Chief in many languages of India.

A popular anecdote of his school days recounts how he lanced his own painful boil in the armpit without hesitation, even as the barber (quack in the village) supposed to do it trembled. This shows how tolerant he was against any odds.

Furthermore, in 1909, Patel's wife Jhaverba was hospitalised in Mumbai erstwhile Bombay, to undergo a major surgical operation for cancer. Her health suddenly worsened and despite successful emergency surgery, she died in the hospital. Patel was given a note informing him of his wife's demise. As he was cross-examining a witness in court, he read the note and pocketed it and continued to intensely cross-examine the witness and finally won the case. He broke down to the news to others only after the proceedings had ended. Patel himself decided not to remarry. He raised his children with the help of his family and sent them to English-medium schools in Mumbai.

Summarizing, the above incidences are indicative of the immense bravery and toughness of Mr. Patel against the odds of life. Mr. Patel is well-known as an “Iron-man”. Hence is my desire to meet this famous person from history.

Medical Treatment versus Attitude

A number of different medical traditions are now widely known and used: Western medicine (using drugs and surgery), herbal medicine, acupuncture (using needles at certain points of the body), and homeopathy (using very small sweet granules) and so on.
---How important is the patient’s mental attitude towards his or her treatment in determining the effectiveness of the treatment?
---Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own experience. Write minimum 250 Words
--------------------------------------------

In this essay I shall elaborate on various ways of medical treatment versus the mental attitude of the person undergoing treatment.

The Homeopathic deals with administration of small quantities of mild medicines in the form of small white and sweet granules. This type of treatment cures the diseases permanently; however treatment takes longer while. The patient should have patience to be OK. There are no side effects in this treatment.

Herbal (Ayurvedic): The treatment comprises of powders, tablets, medicated oils etc. prepared from natural herbs, plants and minerals. This is one of the oldest types of treatment and has no side effects. This type of treatment is faster compared to Homeopathic.

Acupuncture: This is the Chinese way of medicine and it is based on a different paradigm from scientific biomedicine. Treatment of disease is attempted by the activity of needles, pressure, heat, etc. on sensitive parts of the body called "acupuncture points". Besides, Acupressure is a similar Chinese medicine technique based on the same ideas as acupuncture. Acupressure involves placing physical pressure by hand or with the aid of various devices on different acupuncture points.

Finally Western Type, known as Allopathic type of treatment is the most popular and widely accepted these days. The medicines are made of different proportions of chemicals and drugs those can be administered orally or injected directly into the muscles, veins and arteries with the help of a suitable syringe. Surgery is also performed wherever needed. The treatment is popular and fast.

Summarizing, important for recovery is the positive mental attitudes, those make miracles regardless of the type of treatment.

Manhandling by Cops

In recent times, Police & Security Forces have used considerable physical force against demonstrators for peace and environmental issues. To what extent do you believe such force is justified?
-------------------------------------------------

It is unjust behavior of police to use physical force or manhandle the demonstrators. I am absolutely against manhandling on the plea of maintaining law and order during demonstrations. This is a cruelty to fellowmen and it is inhuman.

In the democratic era when every citizen has the freedom of speech, question of beating-up any person or persons during demonstration is out of question. Demonstrators can be softly advised to maintain discipline and cooperate in traffic movement and not to resort to violent behavior and damage public or individual property.

Manhandling by police personnel can worsen the scenario and the protestors or demonstrators may turn angry and violent and may resort to arson and rioting that would further worsen the situation of peace and harmony & law and order.

Police personnel have their own attitudinal problem and have got into a habit of beating the people without knowing or taking trouble to assess the gravity of the situation and blindly resort to beating which is unfair.

During such man handling of public by police, it is not that only vandals are beaten up but the innocent young men women, old men & women, students, housewives, laborers, by-passers get victimized in police behavior for no fault of theirs. This is absolutely inhuman and can not be tolerated in democracy.

In a nutshell Police & Security personnel must be trained to deal with human beings with love and respect. However force has to be used only in extremely bad situations and not everywhere at random.

"Manage Stress"

Modern life is very stressful. People have to manage their time and other resources very carefully. How can they look after themselves when they are so busy?
-----------------------------------------------------------

“Health is Wealth” is a proven fact best known to every one. If people work for wealth at the cost of their health, that is wrong. Health comes at first and wealth at second. No doubt the era is very fast and competition is tough in every field, and survival is for the fittest. In this scenario stress is inevitable, however one has to manage his or her stress in such a way that an individual’s efficiency and health is not affected, and one can manage his or her time and recourses effectively. In this essay we shall see some ways to manage stress.

Relaxation: Sit down at a comfortable place, close your eyes and suggest to your self, “I am calm. I feel relaxed. My hands are relaxed. My legs are relaxed. My torso is relaxed. My shoulders and neck are relaxed. My entire body is relaxed. I feel relaxed and calm. This process is called autosuggestion.

Visit nearest outing spot: Go to the harbor, the nearest beach, a lake, river bank or garden. Just sit there and feel it, smell it, hear it. You will feel relaxed.

Walking: Take a thirty minute walk. Try to relax while you walk. Don’t think of your current problems. Try to sense the smells, sounds, impressions and what you see and feel. You will feel relaxed.

Music: Listen to slow and light melodious music. You shall feel more relaxed.

Laughter: When you are stressed, laugh loudly in front of mirror. Remember “Laughter is the best medicine”.

Summarizing, one must find time to relax. If one relaxes as per above program he or she shall be able to manage available time and resources effectively without stress and look after own self.

General about Car A/C

General about Car A/C

No wonder more folks are dying from cancer than ever before. We wonder where this stuff comes from but here is an example that explains a lot of the cancer causing incidents. Hmmm. Many people are in their cars first thing in the morning and the last thing at night, 7 days a week. As I read this, it makes me feel guilty and ill. Please pass this on to as many people as possible. Guess it’s not too late to make some changes.

Car A/C (Air Conditioning) MUST READ!!!
Please do NOT turn on A/C as soon as you enter the car.

Open the windows after you enter your car and turn ON the AC AFTER a couple of minutes.

Here’s why:

According to a research, the car dashboard, sofa, air freshener emit Benzene, a Cancer causing toxin (carcinogen – take time to observe the smell of heated plastic in your car).

In addition to causing cancer, Benzene poisons your bones, causes anaemia and reduces white blood cells.

Prolonged exposure will cause Leukaemia, increasing the risk of cancer and miscarriage.

Acceptable Benzene level indoors is 50mg per sq.ft. A car parked indoors with windows closed will contain 400-800 mg of Benzene.

If parked outdoors under the sun at a temperature above 60 degrees F, the Benzene level goes up to 2000-4000 mg, 40 times the acceptable level.

People who get into the car, keeping windows closed will inevitably inhale, in quick succession, excessive amounts of the toxin.

“Make Important Change In School”

If you could make one important change in a school that you attended, what change would you make? Use reasons and specific examples to support your answer.
-------------------------------------------

Single most important change that I would like to make in my school is that teaching of English shall start from day one of the Grade—1. In this essay I shall elaborate on my viewpoint.

I studied in a school in Rajasthan—India. There teaching of English Language would start only from seventh grade. Similar is the case with other states in India like Gujarat, Bihar, UP and MP etc. Because of this students would study English for a short spell of time; pass out Matriculation and start college education where although English would not be a compulsory subject but medium of instruction would be English. As a result of this, students face tremendous amount of difficulties in grasping the subjects and they can’t perform well in their final examinations.

Schools in the new age are becoming a larger and larger driving force in popular culture. Schools perform large tasks for current world events. It is only the school education that opens many avenues for earning, a good employment and handsome salary thereby one does not only earn for livelihood but also creates wealth. Also one can make his or her dreams of becoming Doctor, Engineer, Businessman, Actor, Scientist, Pilot and Astronaut come true. In this extremely fast era of computerization and advance technology quite high level of education is the need of the hour.

In nutshell, as a change, I shall ensure that English as a language is taught right from day one a student is enrolled in Grade: 1. that make students thorough and fluent in Speaking, Listening, Reading and Writing of English and students can successfully communicate in English and fare well in examinations with high score.

“Losing Important Natural Resources”

Many parts of the world are losing important natural resources, such as forests, animals, or clean water. Choose one resource that is disappearing and explain why it needs to be saved. Use specific reasons and examples to support your opinion.
--------------------------------------------

Population is dramatically rising day and on. This rise in population gives rise to higher demand of every thing; like food, water, housing, industries, and business avenues. As a result, world over, natural resources like land, water, forests and livestock etc are depleting very fast.

Higher demand of housing and industrialization is aggravating depletion of land and clean water. Power generation consumes gigantic volume of water. However power is the most essential for human progress and development. Secondly because of increased housing and industrialization we lose huge area of agricultural land thereby causing reduction in crop produce and food crises. Extensive housing, greater industrialization, construction of roads, bridges and massive airports etc do not only result into depletion of land and water resource but also give rise to high degree of pollution; heat generation and global warming that is most alarming. Furthermore increased extensive use of automobiles; in addition to pollution and global warming; give rise to environment pollution and depletion of oil and gas resource. Oil is one of the precious natural resource; well known as “Black Gold”.

The resource that is disappearing is the animal resource. Because of deforestation, species lose their habitat and may die. Those animals some times migrate toward towns and are killed by human beings. Sometimes very large vessels carrying crude oil via sea may leak thereby polluting sea water resulting into killing of fishes, crocodiles, turtles, dolphins, and other under water species. Improper waste disposal or effluent also can cause water pollution thereby harming under water creatures. Animals are used for cultivating, poultry, and milk production and material handling and transport.

Summarizing, animal resource is the one that is disappearing. This needs attention and human consideration.

“Live Performance & Concert versus Television”

Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? Attending a live performance (for example, a play, concert, or sporting event) is more enjoyable than watching the same event on television. Use specific reasons and examples to support your opinion.
------------------------------------------------

I prefer to attend live shows in cases of concerts. This is mainly because concerts are rare and shall not be so soon telecasted. However those may be telecasted only after a long interval of time. But many movies from film industry are repeatedly available on Television and those can be viewed sitting in our comfortable arm chair with push back type high back seat. The main advantage and pleasure of attending a live concert is that you see many celebrities in person giving their performances that is most exciting. Imagine some one watching pictures of his or her darling and on the other hand seeing them in person. The latter one is very much pleasurable obviously.

Secondly you come across very high class, sophisticated and aristocrat gentry. Also you can see the eager and the excitement of the audience that is highly exciting in itself which otherwise one can not enjoy sitting at home and watching TV. One can make and develop new contacts that are beneficial for social life as well as for business.

However a sports event like Wimbledon Tennis, World Cup Cricket or even one day international matches it is not possible for every one to get entry there and watch personally. However if one has enough time and money he or she can watch. But very busy business class people can watch those events on television.

In conclusion, watching concerts and sports live and on television have their own merits.
Depending upon viewers’ type of business, availability of time etc one can either attend live program or watch it on television. I don’t see any demerits in any mode irrespective of witnessing it live or watching it on television.

“Live In Small Town or Big City”

Some people prefer to live in a small town. Others prefer to live in a big city. Which place you would prefer to live in? Use specific reasons and details to support your answer.
-----------------------------------------------

I would prefer to live in a small town instead of a big city. In this essay I shall discuss advantages of living in a small town.

Big cities are over populated and overcrowded. Because of this there are a huge number of buildings, automobiles, air conditioners and various other infrastructure facilities. This turns a big city into a concrete jungle with enormous pollution and heat generation thereby creating and enhancing global warming.

Secondly excessive traffic results into accidents thus causing injuries to the people. Such injuries may result into partial disability, or permanent partial disability or total disablement. Some times such accidents are fatal resulting into deaths of people. However in small towns and country side villages’ possibilities of this danger can be more or less ruled out.

In small towns or countryside villages, thick population, localization of industries and offices is absent thereby environment is pollution free and healthy that is a basic requirement and paramount importance for a healthy living. Secondly farming and agriculture is the major industry in villages hence there is enormous greenery and ample of trees are there which give pure Oxygen to breathe. Secondly Cattle and Poultry in such a healthy atmosphere develop and grow very nicely. Also the milk and eggs, meat etc are pure and fee from contamination.

However in small towns’ job opportunities may be little less as compared to a city hence younger generation may prefer to live in city for a better earning and career prospects.

In nutshell, taking into account the merits of staying in a small town or a countryside village, I would prefer to stay in a small town or countryside village for a healthy and peaceful living.

“Literacy More Important Now Than In Past”

Is the ability to read and write more important today than in the past? Why or why not? Use specific reasons and examples to support your answer.
----------------------------------------

Literacy is the mother of education and that is “Most Important” today. Undisputedly everyone should learn and master the written language. Unless we are literate, we can not access the information needed today. Unlike olden age, in this era, requirement is not only to read the odd signposts on the roads. Now we are expected to absorb the full quantum of written and pictorial information that the Internet provides. We need considerably higher order of skills.

For example while at home we are most of the time with our television set, the visual media. Hence we need to be aware of all forms of media. We need to perceive, and manipulate precisely and correctly as to what is the message and how things work. Media presents huge amount of information especially the internet. Given this mass of information we need to have the skills necessary to understand and precisely pick through it. However, we must not only limit ourselves to see the impact part of the computer or the calculator that speedup and simplify the process but we must know how best to use them optimally. If these technologies are sensitively and intelligently used, they have the potential to influence and enhance our self development process and brighten our future.

We must develop genuinely new skills, required to use computers and navigate the web. Otherwise it is impossible to participate in society and keep pace with the time.

In summary, the Internet is the herald of the new era of access, enlightenment and freedom of information. Unlike early age simply our ability to read and write is not enough now we must be educated enough to keep pace with the time and succeed.

“Learning About Past”

Learning about the past has no value for those of us living in the present. Do you agree or disagree? Use specific reasons and examples to support your answer.
---------------------------------------------

In strongly opine that learning about the past is very important for us to live in present and plan for tomorrow. Happenings of past are the lessons and the reference and guide for today and tomorrow. There is of course no point in brooding over the past mistakes or misfortunes. Nevertheless to learn not to repeat those mistakes is most important.

History is all about the past and it is taught in schools, colleges, and universities as an exclusive subject. Had past been unimportant there would be no subject like History in the academic field. Over and above scholars do great research work and even doctorate degrees in the subject of History.

History builds very vital and important data base for every sphere of life. For example, a patient’s health record gives idea to the doctor for further course of treatment. Likewise record of past performance gives an idea to the employer with regard to promotion of the employee to next higher post in hierarchy. Similarly past record of a project gives idea to the executors of a similar new project as to how to proceed with project execution. Furthermore in an industrial establishment, past record of accidents and fire hazard gives idea for prevention of reoccurrences. This also gives an idea as to what measures should be taken and what material and equipments must be procured and made readily available for safety of men, material and money. Nonetheless past record of a criminal gives an idea to the jail authorities whether or not the criminal deserves any leniency.

In conclusion past history is the most valuable data base, without which our performance and success in present and future are impossible and learning about past is important.

“Learning About Life, the Best Way”

Some people believe that the best way of learning about life is by listening to the advice of family and friends. Other people believe that the best way of learning about life is through personal experience. Compare the advantages of these two different ways of learning about life. Which do you think is preferable? Use specific examples to support your preference.
-----------------------------------------------

Listening to the advice of family and friends brings many benefits. Parents with great patience pass on their most valuable advice based on their profound knowledge and vast experience. Sam Levenson in his notable quote says: -

“You Must Learn from the Mistakes of Others. You Can't Possibly Live Long Enough To Make Them All Yourself”.

Parents in the interest of their children wellbeing and for their good teach them what all they know. They expect their children not make the same mistakes which caused them suffering. I strongly believe through my age long experience that parent’s advice is something great and unique and that none can be better than that. Younger of new age may feel those advices as the outdated and old fashioned once, but I can authentically say that no advice can be superior to that of parents and elders. However I don’t mean to say that learning by self and acquired experience has no value.

In contrast, learning through one's personal experience brings many benefits. All the professionals like scientists, doctors, engineers and many more feel that personal experience has a greater importance and they are right. The learning and acquired experience make an individual more confident in his or her work field. They gain more knowledge and experience that will be very helpful and valuable to others in future.

To sum up, it always better to decide and do something after a careful and thorough examination of the pros and cons and analyzing minutely the difference between advices received and own learning plus acquired experience.

“Learn New Way in New Culture”

Sometimes it is very difficult to learn new the way people do things in a new culture. What can we do to make the life easier for newcomers?
------------------------------------------------------

“Every Change Offers Resistance” and “Changes Are Always for Good” is the strong belief since good old days and I too believe in this philosophy.

Every change would offer some resistance and from place to place way of doing the things would differ too and so is the culture. Hence when any person moves to a new place one is faced with this novelty and finds it difficult to be adaptable. Nevertheless not accepting change is like trying to swim against the current that could be extremely strenuous and perhaps in trying to do so one may even drown.

“When In Rome, Do as the Romans Do” this idiom is used to advise people to adapt to the culture of places that they visit. You should try to do as the people do who are from that place. Example: "I can't eat that." Reply: "Oh, give it a try. This is merely an arrangement of a few words that makes that country-man happy, no harm any way.

Visiting a new country means going into a new culture and that is an opportunity for us to see a new place, feel new environment, and know new people, new culture, and new customs. In addition one makes new friends and establishes new contacts. This all brings out a novelty in the life that is most pleasing and exciting. None should miss such golden opportunity.

In conclusion, to facilitate the newcomers to our country and make their life easier, we can politely convey and convince them about our customs etc. and request them to possibly adapt. In reciprocation we too must be too flexible and not rigid about our ways of doing the things when we go to a new place having a different culture.

“Learn By Doing, Reading and Listening”

People learn in different ways. Some people learn by doing things; other people learn by reading about things; others learn by listening to people talk about things. Which of these methods of learning is best for you? Use specific examples to support your choice.
----------------------------------

Learning is a continuous and lifelong process. Learning can be by reading books, doing the things and gaining experience and by listening to others. By those entire ways one can learn. I would prefer to adopt all the three ways. In this essay I will elaborate my viewpoint.

To learn subjects in the school and college, students have to read books. Books are the valuable treasures of information and knowledge. One can learn a lot by reading books. However everything can not be learnt from books is also a truth. For example one can not become a master bicycle rider simply by reading a book on it “How to Ride a Bicycle”.
Similar is the case with riding a motorbike or driving a car in the city area or the free way.
For learning those one has to have help and guidance from the people who know these jobs fairly well.

Listening to the advice of family and friends brings many benefits. Parents and elders, with great patience pass on their most valuable advice based on their profound knowledge and vast experience. Sam Levenson in his notable quote says: -

“You Must Learn from the Mistakes of Others. You Can't Possibly Live Long Enough To Make Them All Yourself”.

Furthermore, learning through one's personal experience brings many benefits. “Learn Better by Selves or With Teacher”

Some people think that they can learn better by themselves than with a teacher. Others think that it is always better to have a teacher. Which do you prefer? Use specific reasons to develop your essay.
-----------------------------

I opine, it is always better to learn by a teacher than learning by own self. Learning in isolation may not be as accurate as taught by a highly qualified teacher or professor of that subject. Not to forget, a concept wrongly perceived and applied shall be disastrous.

No doubt technology has extensively advanced in almost all aspects of our lives including education. Now many students rely more on computers for research project and dissertations. The students now opt for online way of learning. Said change in the learning process has become a cause of concern about the decline in importance of teachers.

However, the presence of a teacher is essential for students because the human contact and personal touch are very essential in effective communicating and receiving. This has a positive impact on students. Mainly students realize that they are not dealing with some nonliving object rather they are dealing with a human being an emotional creature who gives love and respect and vice versa. They also learn the importance of studying in group and thus improve on human relation skills and social skills.

Some feel that the role of teachers has faded because of introduction of computers. Computers help students to learn fast and progress in their studies as compared to classroom. Not to forget, computer operation is also taught by teachers. A teacher very well knows the strengths and weaknesses of the students and guides them to overcome their weaknesses and strengthen the strengths. This optimizes the chances of success of students.

In conclusion, teachers are important in learning process and no machine can replace them. Last but not least “A good teacher is like a candle - it consumes itself to light the way for others”. Author Unknown.
