Movies are the biggest and most popular sources of entertainment and amusement. Films are musicals, and contain catchy music in the form of song-and-dance numbers woven into the script. A film's success depends on the quality of such musical numbers. Indeed, a film's music is often released before the movie itself to attract the higher audience. Audiences expect full value for their money with a good entertainment. Songs and dances, love triangles, comedy and dare-devil thrills and all are mixed up in a two to three hour long extravaganza with an intermission these movies are a mixture of many things.
The films frequently employ formulaic ingredients such as star-crossed lovers, apprehensive and angry parents, love triangles, family ties, sacrifice, corrupt politicians, kidnappers, conniving villains, courtesans with hearts of gold, long-lost relatives and siblings separated by fate, dramatic reversals of fortune, and convenient coincidences.
Bollywood is the informal name given to the popular Mumbai-based Hindi-language film industry in India. There have always been Indian films with more artistic aims and more sophisticated stories, both inside and outside the tradition. Bollywood conventions are changing, however. A large number of Indian emigrants in English speaking countries, and the increased Western influence at home, have nudged Bollywood films closer to Hollywood models. In the movies, kisses are no longer banned. Plots now tend to feature Westernized urbanites dating and dancing in clubs rather than arranged marriages. Liberal kissing and sexy scenes are the main source of attraction in films.
In conclusion every one may have some reservations at home, friend circle, business circle and social circle for his or her entertainment whereas those limitations are no obstacle when one watches a movie in a cinema hall which is why movies are so popular.
