“Good Gift for Child’s Development”

A gift (such as a camera, a soccer ball, or an animal) can contribute to a child’s development. What gift would you give to help a child develop? Why? Use reasons and specific examples to support your choice

I would prefer to present soccer ball instead of camera or a pet. Soccer is a game like foot ball that teaches the child a game and it is useful for the physical and mental development of the child.

A camera will tempt the child o always keep on taking photographs and photography is a pretty expensive hobby. Moreover it hardly contributes toward the child’s development.
It calls for a recurring expenditure in the future days to come.

So long as gifting a pet is concerned, children and pets go very well with each other. It is natural that child would be tempted to play with the pet much more than anything else. This in turn would have an adverse effect on his or her studies that is not desirable. Secondly a pet has to be taken care as good as a family member. Giving a pet may make the parents and other family members unhappy on account of forth coming recurring expenditure toward maintenances of a pet in the house including its health care. Also a pet owner has to have sign boards displayed on his house for the guests and by passers cautioning them. This is a legal aspect of keeping a pet. Not to forget some people are highly allergic to pets and many have dog or cat phobias too. Under those circumstances, gifting a pet may cause more harm than good. Sometimes it may prove to be a curse and not the gift.

In nutshell children must be given such a gift that helps them to study more and more and have significant contribution toward overall development of the child.
