“Qualities of Good Neighbor”

Neighbors are the people who live near us. In your opinion, what are the qualities of a good neighbor? Use specific details and examples in your answer.
----------------------

We as human beings live in a society and we are all social creatures. All of us have some neighbors and in turn we are neighbors to them. We all as neighbors reside nearby or adjacent having one common wall or a fence. We communicate with our neighbors and so they do. Everyone would like sensible and trustworthy neighbors. Good neighbors try and help each other how best one can and solve problems with mutual help. Neighbors must be reliable, honest, trustworthy, and cooperative. In-turn neighbors would also have expectation of equal reciprocation from our side.

While we may be residing too far away from our parents, brothers, sisters and close relatives or friends, depending upon our work and business location and demands, however the neighbors are the people who live nearest to us. Hence in any unforeseen and uncalled for contingency like our sickness, an accidental injury it is the neighbor who comes forward and helps us the most. Here I am reminded of an old proverb
“A Good Neighbor Is A Priceless Treasure”.

Nowadays people live in the apartments and the apartment culture has changed the scenario of neighborhood. Now instead of interacting face to face people prefer to converse on telephone or the cell phone or internet even for that matter. This culture has reduced the personal touch in human relation. Hence individuals have turned out to be quite reserved and introvert. People do not like that their neighbors’ disturb, annoy and cause troubles to them or they unnecessarily interfere in their personal matters.

In conclusion some good qualities of a neighbor are reliable, honest, trustworthy, and cooperative. At the same time we too must equally reciprocate for an everlasting fast friendship.

“Purchase House or Business”

You have enough money to purchase either a house or a business. Which would you choose to buy? Give specific reasons to explain your choice.
---------------------------------------

If I have enough money I would rather opt for buying a house. In this essay I shall elaborate on my viewpoint.

Buying a house is an Investment that appreciates at a very high rate. Rising real estate values have made home ownership a better investment than stocks market over the past several years. Experts say if you want to beat Stock Market, buy a house. Other key benefits to buying a home include:

• In case of loans, the interest you pay on your mortgage is tax deductible, so homeowners stand to gain a significant reduction on their income tax.
• Many sellers will also be anxious to sell by the end of the year so that they, too, can enjoy tax savings on the next home they purchase. That means you may have more leverage during negotiations and they may be willing to accept lower than their listing price.
• If you're buying a new house, there's a good chance builders will be offering incentives. Many builders will throw in nice little extras to sell as many houses as they can by the end of the year.
• A place to make your own. When you own your house, you can update your kitchen, paint your home's exterior in any color you choose, change your fixtures, and replace your carpeting -- all with the knowledge that the changes you make are your own. Improvements can increase the value of a house, in turn giving owners more money when they sell.

In conclusion, home equity is the largest component of personal wealth for everyone. Increase in home values and conversely volatility of the stock market proves the benefits of buying a house.

“Purchase Computers or Books”

Your school has enough money to purchase either computer for students or books for the library. Which should your school choose to buy — computers or books? Use specific reasons and examples to support your recommendation.
------------------------------

I am in favor of buying computers to books for the students. Most people welcome computers that have improved the ways we work and we play. Technology is advancing at a speed that is far beyond our imagination. Now computers are most important in our lives. Students come across computers both at home and at school. Governments worldwide have introduced computers and internet connections in classrooms.

Furthermore all businesses are fully taken over and performed by our computers only. Say banking, education, air booking, rail booking, road booking, buying selling, renting, trading in equity market, tender inquiries and what not. Even marriages are also fixed on internet. I am reminded of an old saying is that has rotated by 180 degrees now, that is-----
“Marriages Are Made In Heaven” now modified as “Marriages Are Made On Internet”.

However books in no way lose their importance. Books are the real treasures of knowledge and information. Books are our real companions. Starting from nursery days, we came across books only and our excitement and delight of seeing the glossy pages with shinning bright photos of animals, fruits, vegetables, ponds, rivers, falls, seas, trains, airplanes and natural scenes is a marvelous unforgettable memory that we cherish today. Even today we need magazines and novels to be with us while we travel in a travel. Books are our companions when we wait for a flight or train to arrive or we are having a torturous wait in a hospital or a super specialist’s office.

In nutshell, for the purpose of student’s education, it is better for the school to buy computers than books in view of existing trend.

“Progress Is Always Good”

Do you agree or disagree that progress is always good? Use specific reasons and examples to support your answer.
----------------------------------------

I am in total agreement of the statement that progress is always good. Progress means improvement that of an individual or civilization; betterment; a movement in time or space toward the fulfillment of what one values. Something worked towards fulfillment of a striven goal. Goal achievement is always “Good”. Hence progress is always good.

In the absence of progress we stagnate, cease to develop, and we turn out to be good for nothing and that is most undesirable. In this era of computerization, business and economic policies liberalization and thereby globalization, things in the life are moving at the speed of thought. Slightest regression on our part shall prove to be a curse and shall be detrimental not alone for us but for the society and the nation too. Competitions in every sphere of life are the cut-throat-competitions and survival is for the fittest. Under the circumstances progress is the only way of life.

Imagine your house is under construction. Once you start construction of a house you want its possession fast and start living in the new house at the earliest opportune moment. But say if the work ceases to progress, you would never have a house then. Secondly think your child admitted in primary school stops progressing in studies and staying in the same class for years together. How depressive in either cases.

We have conquered outer space and the moon too. Astronauts have successfully traveled to moon, stayed there and returned back and landed on earth safe, hale and hearty. This marvelous success and excellent achievement is attributable to progress made by humankind.

In conclusion “Progress Is the Key to Excellence and That Is the Right Way of Life”.
