“Compare and Choose Your Transport”
You need to travel from your home to a place 40 miles (64 kilometers) away. Compare the different kinds of transportation you could use. Tell which method of travel you would choose. Give specific reasons for your choice.

My first preference shall be public transport. It is available in the form of suburban trains and state transport buses. Frequency of plying is also quite high; so catching the time up is not a problem. I do have my car and a motorbike too. Even then why I prefer public transport to my own car or motorbike; I shall explain this essay.
By making use of suburban train and other available public transport mode, firstly I am not exposed to air pollution compared to my journey by road in my car or on my motorbike. Secondly it is highly cost effective. Thirdly it is very fast and safe. Last but not least I feel proud to contribute towards fulfillment of my nation’s important missions of “Conservation of Energy” “Oil Conservation” and “Reduction in Global Warming”. By using public transport, I add to government income and I economize on my expenditure.
In contrast, if I use my own transport i.e. car or motorbike; First of all I am exposed to more of pollution. Secondly I am exposed to some risk of road accident. Thirdly I am not as fast as a suburban train or state transport bus. Last but not least I spend high on gasoline. In addition, by using my car or motorbike I may be adding to the problems of global warming and pollution that I should avoid as a responsible and civilized citizen. However for the purposes of fun and enjoyment, I may use my car or motorbike sparingly on weekends for fun, enjoyment and merrymaking.
In nut shell I would prefer to use public transport for day to day jobs and my private car for enjoyments and merrymaking on weekends.

“Communication Less-Personal Now”

I agree that telephones and electronic mail have made inter personal communication less personal. I believe that face to face communication is superior to electronic communication or telephonic communication. Even in this computer era, Face-to-face communication skill remains the fundamental need to one’s success. “Consistent, daily face-to-face communication promotes good feelings plus effective and collaborative teamwork.”
Face-to-face communication continues to be the most powerful human interaction. However wonderful electronic devices may be, those would never be able to replace the intimacy and immediacy of people conversing in the same office or a room. For best interaction, it is always helpful to go back to the basics and get face-to-face. Face to face communication has worked for several million of years. Majority of experts opine that the best communication occurs when a speaker and a listener are facing each other. “Eye contact, facial expressions, body language like movements, space, time, distance, appearance—all these nonverbal clues influence the way the message is interpreted and decoded by the receiver. Nevertheless some people may be e-mailing more and meeting less either due to financial and time constraints or the lack of interpersonal communication skills.
However there are many disadvantages of impersonal communication like; when masses of people are extremely upset, it is just impossible to cool down the situation from a long distance. Secondly when; people in masses are emotionally distressed, they only respond positively to personal talks and interaction and not to electrically or telephonically transmitted messages. Furthermore any situation demanding priority and involving launch of a new product or service essential for the success of the company and the employees calls for a face to face communication.

“College & University Education for All Students”
Some people believe that a college or university education should be available to all students. Others believe that higher education should be available only to good students. Discuss these views. Which view do you agree with? Explain why.

I very strongly feel in the democratic world all have equal right to acquire education. “Life is a continuous learning process”. A University is an institution for the purpose of education and, development that leads the community to the progress and development and prosperity thereby. Hence any one desirous of having education must be encouraged and welcome and weak or strong should be no criteria.
In this extensively fast era of computerization and advancement in technology; even a most common man now talks about computerization and travel to outer space, moon and other planets. In such a scenario, more and more education, higher and higher education is the need of the hour. Simply literacy is not enough hence any one desirous of having education must be encouraged and welcome regardless one is weak or strong. In democratic environment every citizen and his or her dependents have freedom of speech, right to information and many more; similarly every citizen has a right to get educated too. Furthermore, for an individual’s own self development, a disciplined life is most important. Attending classes regularly and punctually shall induce discipline among the university students that is a paramount importance for a powerful personality. In a way universities can make a great contribution by imparting an excellent education and giving out highly educated professionals with powerful personality those are the assets of the nation and thereby a powerful nation is built.
In nut shell, world is not composed of only high caliber professionals or Chief Executive Officers. Every level of persons are required, let every one not be a Management gem or a CEO for that matter. I very strongly opine that boys and girls must study together in the same school. There need not be separate gender-specific schools. In this essay we shall discuss the benefits of coeducation system.
System of teaching boys and girls together is known as coeducation system. The main economic benefit is that separate real estate is not required. Nation saves by way of economizing on real estate, buildings, infrastructure, and employment of the teaching staff. Second most important need to secure equality for women in industrial, professional, and political activities is met with and fulfilled. Most of the very old gender-specific colleges have become coeducational now. Only a few historic women's schools and men's seminaries, remain. However some communities oppose coeducation on basis of their religious and cultural grounds.
Coeducation is good not simply on academic grounds but on sexual grounds as well. The gender–specific schools create an undue curiosity among students about opposite sexes. This leads to their indulgence in immature sex acts and some times many crimes. In my opinion the segregation of young men and women leads to an undue preoccupation of students with sex that is a very big hurdle in their way to studies. Nevertheless coeducation creates a more natural and healthier atmosphere for studies. Students should have the healthy, moral and intellectual cognition with respect to sex and without any undue excitement about the novelty that predominantly prevails in the system of isolation. Coeducation, promises intellectual growth and sexual well-being.

“Classmates Important”

I agree classmates do impact the life of fellow student; however it can’t be generalized that it is for good always and that it is better than parents influence on an individual.
Classmates occupy positions of extreme importance in the lives of fellow students. Often it can seem as if they are more important than parents! Friends can have great influence over many areas of a teen’s emerging identity. Their choice of music, movies, clothes, boyfriends or girlfriends, classes, jobs, and so on. In some teens, it doesn’t stop here; it also covers the personal standards of behavior, school performance, morals and values. This makes it especially important for teens to make good friendship choices.
Classmates influence peer’s life, even if they don't realize it, just by spending time with students. Students learn from them, and vice versa. It's only human nature to listen to and learn from other people. Classmates can have a positive influence on each other. Students build a sense of trust, respect, and mutual support.
Nevertheless sometimes teens become more susceptible to negative influences like getting addicted to smoking, drinking, drug-abuse and premature sex and many more. However the supportive and trusting relationships with parents, elderly relatives and teachers prove to be the powerful tools that enable students to overcome these problems and can enhance students’ sense of responsibility, belonging and academic achievement.

“Classes Lecture Type or Interaction Type ”
Some students like classes where teachers lecture (do all of the talking) in class. Other students prefer classes where the students do some of the talking. Which type of class do you prefer? Give specific reasons and details to support your choice.

I feel that most students are excited about lecture hall courses because it gives them a better chance to hide. Nevertheless, I strongly feel that classroom lecture type is really better for learning. In this essay I will elaborate on both types of learning i.e. lecture type and the non lecture type.
Main advantage in lecture hall courses can offer more freedom. Because these courses are more impersonal, your professor will rarely know if you are there or not. Also, you will feel more comfortable at times knowing that you are not being watched closely. This can be a good thing if you are an independent learner.
Secondly lecture hall courses are less likely to have multiple smaller assignments and homework. Most lecture hall courses will not have regular and smaller homework assignments. Once again, lecture hall courses create more freedom, which can be beneficial but also has the real potential to be harmful if that freedom is used absurdly.
One of the disadvantages in lecture type hall is that more students in the class may cause distractions also more students mean more friends to chit chat or gossip with. Besides, lecture hall courses are impersonal means student will receive less personal attention. Furthermore, the lecture hall setting makes it intimidating to ask questions. However don’t be shy to seek clarifications. Moreover there are fewer ways to earn an "A" in this type of class. Don’t take this lightly – work hard daily and avoid the horror of cramming. Sometimes classes may seem boring. Lecture hall courses are exactly that - lectures. Student has to make sure to take active notes and listen attentively.
In nutshell, each system has its merits and demerits. Student must carefully choose options lest some factors go against their interests.
