“Develop Research Centre For Business or Agriculture?”

A university plans to develop a new research center in your country. Some people want a center for business research. Other people want a center for research in agriculture (farming). Which of these two kinds of research centers do you recommend for your country? Use specific reasons in your recommendation.

-------------------------------------------------------

Considering global warming and biodiversity issues, I would recommend for a research center for farming and agriculture.

India is highly overpopulated and population is increasing continuously. The basic human needs for water, food, housing and fuel are making unprecedented demands on our nation and ecosystems. Further than the necessities of survival, there is increasing demand for more material goods and services. Nation strives to increase material wealth and the comforts and conveniences, the pressure on biodiversity and natural resources increases. Over population necessitates enormous housing constructions this causes trees falling and jungle cutting thereby causing imbalance of ecology. In addition, too many vehicles are needed that cause environment pollution by emission of carbon mono oxide and carbon-dioxide. Furthermore heat generation add to global warming. Global warming represents a profound and emerging threat to biodiversity all around. As temperatures rise, many habitats for plants and animals will change sometimes depriving them of the homes and niches. Many species will not be able to migrate fast enough to keep up with shifting habitat ranges. As a result, many species will become extinct, and ecosystems all around will become even more fragile. Furthermore, massive industrialization cause tremendous amount of emission of gases in the atmosphere that has resulted into depletion of ozone layer resulting into shortage of Oxygen. Many other liquids discharged in form of effluents contaminate the earth thereby most fertile land turns into barren.

In conclusion, in light of the above facts, I would recommend to have a research centre for the maximum promotion and development of the farming and agriculture industry. This shall be by and large in the interest of the ecosystems, environment and wildlife.

“Develop Land for Housing and Industry or Not?”

In your country, is there more need for land to be left in its natural condition or is there more need for land to be developed for housing and industry? Use specific reasons and examples to support your answer.
------------------------------
I feel that in my country India, now there is a need to save the land as is where is for farming, agriculture, and jungle habitat. In this essay I shall elaborate my view point.

Last but not least massive industrialization causes tremendous amount of gases in the atmosphere that has caused depletion in ozone layer resulting into shortage of Oxygen. Many other liquids discharged in form of effluents contaminate the earth thereby most fertile land turns into barren.

In conclusion, in light of the above facts, it is better to leave the balance land for farming, agriculture and jungle habitat for species and wildlife.

“Dangerous Sports and Activities”

Why do you think some people are attracted to dangerous sports or other dangerous activities? Use specific reasons and examples to support your answer.
-------------------------------------------------------------------

Numerous people play dangerous sport every day. In the process they suffer severe injuries, pain and even trauma for that matter. Those players in some cases may even suffer temporary partial or permanent partial or total disablement. Even then players volunteer for the risk of life.

The main reason behind this as I strongly feel is that players who belong to economically backward class and unprivileged class or they are financially unsound or they suffer severe poverty, opt for such dangerous sports like Boxing, Motor race, Bull fighting and many more. Those players are simply lured by money name and fame.

Secondly, school students from richer social strata, who are weak at studies and have turned out to be mischievous and vagabonds are forced by the school authorities to play dangerous sports, on the plea that playing will improve an individual students' character and personality, but in fact they increase the risk of injury to the student. In fact the objective of schools behind forcing students into dangerous activities is their own selfish motive of the institution’s own reputation name and fame.

Those dangerous sports are nothing but form violence. Boxing is a perfect example. The sight of two men or even women for that matter, bleeding with faces ripped open, trying to obliterate each other is barbaric. Other sports, such as American football or rugby, are also examples of barely-concealed violence.

In conclusion the main motivation behind playing dangerous sports is Money, Name & Fame to the people of economically backward and underprivileged class and in other group of weak students who turn to be mischievous and vagabonds. In addition unemployed youth is no exception to this activity.

“Dancing & Culture”

Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? Dancing plays an important role in a culture. Use specific reasons and examples to support your answer.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
I agree dancing plays an important role in culture. Culture can be defined as the way of behaviors and life. The rituals, dances, arts, music and beliefs of a population are passed down from generation to generation.

Dance generally refers to body movements made in a particular manner on a rhythmic music. Dance is used as the form of expressions and social interaction in a spiritual or performance setting. Dance is also a type of non-verbal communication.

Different categories of the dance are broadly Solo dance, Partner dance and Group dance. Dance is preformed for various purposes like Ceremonial dance, Religious dance, Performance dance, Social dance etc. Some of the old forms of dance and music are Waltz; Tango; Disco; Hip-Hop etc. Those are performed with music. Music can be classified as Classical music, Classical ballet and Light music.

Majority of times dance is accompanied by music, however it can also be presented independently to provide its own accompaniment like a tap dance. Dance also denotes a sport activity. Initially this term was used for competitive ballroom dancing, in its International Style.

These days there are many TV programs promoting dancing on TV shows named “Nach-Balieye”. Those programs are popularizing dancing activity internationally. There are music competitions too for the participants to win and become Indian Idol.

The state of Punjab in India is the origin of “Bhangra” dance. It is widely known both as a style of music and a dance. It is mostly used to celebrate good harvest by the farmers. This is also expression of love, patriotism or current social issues. Similarly in Gujarat state of India; “Garba” dance is performed to worship and please Goddess Amba.

In conclusion dance plays important role in cultures.

“Creative Artists & Freedom to Express”

Creative Artists should always be given the freedom to express their own ideas in words, pictures, music or films in whichever way they wish. There should be no government restriction on what they do. To what extent do you agree or disagree with this?
--------------------------------------------------------------------

I do not fully agree to the view. Artists must be given freedom to perform and develop their art to a highest level. But in the process, their art work should not become vulgar & obscene and the respective governments must ensure and exercise governmental control on such production. Otherwise this can be very detrimental for the mental and physical health of the viewers, very specially students and children who are the national assets.

Educative films on current affairs, world economy, business, education, health, space related, wild life protection, and technological-development are most useful for the entire society whereas Crime movies, Horror movies and Blue films are most detrimental to the society by large. Such production must be minutely censored under governmental supervision and control.

All horror movies are far away from realism and viewing such movies cause deterioration of mental health and throw viewers sick needing long psychiatric treatment and still many do not regain normalcy. Furthermore many product advertisements of Cigarettes, Cigars, Tobacco products and Alcohol etc wrongly motivate youngsters to consume them and soon they fall into the trap and become addicts and spoil their lives.

Many advertisements show the models burning themselves into flames and jumping from tall buildings and yet safely land on ground. Cases have happened the youngsters tried to imitate those advertisements and killed themselves.

In nutshell while artists must be given full liberty to exhibit their art-work to public by large, strict Governmental Supervision & Control must also be exercised in order to ensure that nothing is exposed to public that could be injurious to their mental & physical health.

“Countries Must Mutually Help Each Other”

Does foreign aid work? Or does it only help the rich country by keeping the poorer country dependent?
--------------------------------------------------------

Richer countries must help poorer countries. Following are the supporting grounds for my view point.

Today, the world is becoming more and more closely linked. However, billions of people still live in poverty, and in many places, the gap between rich and poor is widening. There are many reasons for helping poor countries. First of all, it is the humanitarian. Many industrialists donate in charity. Many feel it is religious, social, and moral duty to help the fellow countrymen who are the victims of famine, drought, war, or disease. The reason why many countries help poorer ones is for economic reasons. The donors may want to control the supply of commodities such as oil, water, or wheat. Alternatively, the richer country may want to ensure markets for their own products, whether these are planes, computers or shoes. However, aid is not necessarily the best way to help a country. It is a proven fact that billions of dollars of the aid invariably go into the valets of corrupt governments or administrative authorities. Poor and needy are never helped.

There are many other ways we can help poor countries. Opening up trade barriers, so that poor countries can sell their goods is one way. Another is to remove subsidies so that imported goods from poorer countries can compete fairly. A third method is to forgive debts. Many poor countries have huge interest repayments on old loans.

The needs of the poorer countries may seem obvious. However, though our humanity makes us want to help eliminate poverty and suffering, we must examine the real needs of poor countries and implement solutions that will benefit both them and us.
