“Spend More Money on Technology or Basic Needs”

Some people think that governments should spend as much money as possible on developing or buying computer technology. Other people disagree and think that this money should be spent on more basic needs. Which one of these opinions do you agree with? Use specific reasons and details to support your answer.
----------------------------------

I think, government must spend maximum towards human needs than computer technology as India is extremely overpopulated. I will discuss human needs as per Maslow’s theory.

Basic needs are Food, Water, Sleep, Shelter and Warmth. If those needs are not fulfilled, a human's physiological needs take the highest priority. Physiological needs can control thoughts and behaviors, and can cause people to feel sickness, pain, and discomfort. Furthermore are the Safety needs, when physiological needs are met, the need for safety will emerge. When one stage is fulfilled, a person naturally moves to the next. These include: Personal security from lay-offs, personal health, and recovery after accidents, illnesses and any adverse impacts. Maslow believed that humans have the need to increase their intelligence and thereby chase knowledge. Cognitive needs is the expression of the natural human need to learn, for education, explore, discover and create to get a better understanding of the world around them.

Last but not least; Needs of Love, Belonging, and Social needs. After physiological and safety needs are fulfilled, the third layer of human needs is social. This psychological aspect of Maslow's hierarchy involves emotionally-based relationships in general, such as: friendship and sexual intimacy having a supportive and communicative family

In conclusion, overpopulation has resulted into a grave problem of unemployment causing acute poverty. People have no jobs, no shelters to live and no food to eat. Medical and Educational facilities have turned insufficient thus people die of sicknesses and ailments. The victims of unemployment and poverty resort to unfair ways of earning. Those can be loot, vandalism, sex business, drug paddling and alike. Such unfair ways give rise to crimes thus crime rate shoots-up to alarming levels. Under the circumstances I feel government must spend more toward basic human needs than computerization.
