Essay: - Children and Reality Shows

Essay: - Children and Reality Shows

Participation of Children in TV Reality shows has adverse effects on the tender minds and hearts of the children. Firstly it is against the Indian law to engage person below 18 for the paid work. This amounts to engaging “Child Labor”.

The participating children are under enormous pressure to perform in front of cameras and on the stage and the huge audience. Secondly they do tremendous amount of rehearsals at home as well as at the studios prior to the show. This makes them totally tired and exhausted. This is really inhuman.

Many a times the participants have tripped on the stage due to weary. On the top of it, after the performance the harsh remarks of the judges, the child is unable to handle and becomes depressed, gloomy and sad. On the other hand they are scolded by the parents too for not winning. This is the gross cruelty to the children.  This deteriorates the mental health of the child participant.

Because of these reality shows the parents have started expecting too much from the children. Children are made to overwork at home and practice for the show. This ruins the academic career of the children. Besides, child participants are exposed to adult content and jokes that is absolutely undesirable.

Childhood is the most precious phase of an individual's life and it comes only once. It is meant for getting love from parents, family members and friends and Playing plus Schooling. Wasting childhood with such a high quantum of tension and labour for moneymaking is simply not right.
The worst part is that cases have happened wherein the children suffered paralysis and even committed suicide.

In summary such reality shows with child participation must be totally banned in the interest of the sound mental health and good academic career growth of the new generation.

Essay: - To what extent is the use of animals in scientific research acceptable

To what extent is the use of animals in scientific research acceptable?
---------------------------------------------------------------------

These researches are done for the better of human resource which is the most precious resource. In this essay I shall elaborate as to why use of animals in scientific research should be acceptable.

Majority of the human population eats meat products in a daily basis day, yet no one argues that this is "cruel". If animal testing was not used, the second alternative would be testing on human. It is proven fact that a human life is by far more valuable than that of an animal.

There are various categories of the animals. Firstly the Pet animals this may include, Cow, Buffalo, Goats, Camels, Bullocks, Donkeys, Horses and Zebras.  These animals are used by human beings for getting milk, farming and transportation. Conversely Goat meat is consumed by men as food too. Secondly other pet animals are the cock, hen, fish, prawns, crabs etc. Cock and hen are used in poultry farming industry. Chicken meat, eggs, fish, prawns and crabs are used as food for human.

In the study of medical science and research the animals like frogs, earthworm, and cockroach are used to teach the medical students in medical colleges. Rats and mice are used by drug companies to see the effect of new drug.  These are such animals that create nuisance and unhealthy living conditions for human. If mice are found in the house, shop or offices they are poisoned and killed. Now there is nothing wrong if those unwanted species are used for scientific research.

Summarizing, I feel there is nothing wrong to use of animals in scientific research to a reasonable limit of Rats, Mice, cockroaches and earthworms etc. This research work is for the better of human lives.

Essay – Should the government place a tax on junk food and fatty snacks?

Essay: - Should the government place a tax on junk food and fatty snacks?
---------------------------
I very strongly feel that government must place high tax on junk food and fatty snacks. In this essay I shall elaborate my view point.

It is well known that junk food and fatty snacks are not good for human health. Those foods in short term cause problems like indigestion, belching, gastric, and bloating of stomach and many more. In the longer run, Fatty snacks give rise to high cholesterol, abnormal weight gain and obesity. High Cholesterol, Obesity and Heavy body weight result into heart problems and heart failures.  Those foods are very popular among students and the younger generation. For young parents with their kids, eating those foods in the food stands and fast food stalls has become a fashion and a status symbol. In this fast age of computerization people don’t prefer to make food at home but consume junk food popularly called Fast Food.

It is a proven fact that smoking and drinking alcohol are injurious to the health and can cause deadly diseases like Cancer and Cirrhosis of liver. These products are highly taxed. High taxation on these products makes the affordability difficult resulting into low consumption rate. General motivation to consume these products is low and this is in the interest of good health of the population.

Identically, junk food and fatty snacks must also be heavily taxed so that the affordability of these foods becomes difficult resulting into lower consumption. This will be largely in the interest of good health of the population by large.

In summary, Government must highly tax these foods in the interest of the good health of the population. It would not be out of place to mention here that “Healthy population builds a healthy nation”

TOEFL Speaking Video-28 Describe a resource that helped you.

Which place has fond memories for you? Describe this place and explain why it is memorable to you.

A country side village Bijainagar in District Ajmer, Rajasthan, India is my birth place and has my fond memories. I did my schooling here, so all the fun and merrymaking that I had with my classmates and friends are the memories that I cherish. In and around Bijainagar there used to be number of Religious Fairs. I with my friends, invariably use to attend those fairs popularly called “Mela” in Marwari and Hindi.  There use to be various entertainments like magic shows, acrobatics shows, merry-go-round etc together with ice cream and cold drinks and some fast food stalls. We use to have lot of fun and amusement there. In Bijainagar mode of transport was only bicycle, bullock carts and camel carts.   I had been using bicycle for attending school. We use to go on picnic and excursion trips to nearby places and use to enjoy ride in bullock carts, camel carts. Also sometimes I had chance for horse ride, camel ride and elephant ride. Now in this fast age era of computerization whatever I enjoyed is nothing more than a dream. Hence I fondly cherish memories of my good old days of Bijainagar.
