“Go On Vacation or Buy Car”

A friend of yours has received some money and plans to use all of it either to go on vacation or to buy a car. Your friend has asked you for advice. Compare your friend’s two choices and explain which one you think your friend should choose. Use specific reasons and details to support your choice.
=====================================

My friend is a Software professional and works for long hours everyday. I would advise him to avail a vacation that has many benefits. Vacations benefit your health and mind. While relaxation and exposure to culture are obvious benefits, there’s a wealth of other rewards too:

Firstly people who take vacations reduce on their risk of illness. Men who do not take any vacations have the greater risk of heart disease. Furthermore taking vacations improve the mental health. Women who take frequent vacations don’t become depressed, tense, or tired. Conversely women who rarely take vacations are likelier to have stress and sleeplessness.

Secondly a vacation reconnects and revitalizes relationships that have taken a toll from an on-call, always-on, and work-obsessed culture. Very long hours of duties cause family and social relationships to suffer. Moreover vacations let you feel immense freedom. You can wake up when you want, sleep when you want, and eat what you want and have fun without worrying about the work.

By taking vacation one Gains self confidence. When you skip vacations, you put yourself on sale. By availing a vacation, you declare to yourself and to others that you are important and deserve dedicated time for yourself. Over and above one finds creative inspiration. Throughout the year we follow a strict schedule. We eat at the same restaurants, see the same people, and experience the same environment. This monotony reduces the opportunities for inspiration and for new ways of thinking. By traveling to a new environment, we put ourselves in a situation that allows our brains to think differently.

Summarizing, one becomes more productive by scheduling a vacation. One becomes more efficient. Hence I would advise my friend to avail a nice vacation instead of buying a car.

“Gift of Money with School”

Your school has received a gift of money. What do you think is the best way for your school to spend this money? Use specific reasons and details to support your choice.
----------------------------------------------------

In general, majority schools are quite well off. They have enough infrastructure facilities and funds for the educational purposes. As such I feel the best way to spend the said gift money shall be by taking the students to a nice picnic spot of an educational value for a tour. In this essay I shall elaborate benefits of such tours.

When a student visits new places, he or she learns about the new places, people and cultures that is also a vital part of education. By knowing more one acquires a bulk of information and broadens his or her outlook. Not out of place to mention here that “Information is Power”. Extensive exposure of a person to various new places makes that person a dynamic personality.

Confinement to one place makes the life of an individual very monotonous and boring. One can’t learn any thing more than what one knows. The knowledge remains limited and so is experience too. He or she has a very limited or no exposure to the outer world. Also one can not learn or acquire multifarious knowledge and experience.

In nut shell I feel it is a better idea for the school to utilize the said gift money towards an excursion trip. Taking students to newer places not only for entertain or amusement but also in order to increase their exposure and improve their outlook and personality in totality is a great idea. It is always good for students to sometimes visit new places instead of confining to one place. By this they acquire a lot of information and knowledge and experience that is very precious and important for an individual’s education and overall development.

“Generation Difference”

Every generation of people is different in important ways. How is your generation different from your parents’ generation? Use specific reasons and examples to explain your answer.
----------------------------------------------------

Generation gap is a term used to describe differences in cultural norms between members of a younger generation and their older. This is when older and younger people do not understand each other because of their different experiences, opinions, habits and behavior. None is exception to this phenomenon. In this essay I will elaborate on generation difference.

The prompt response in decision-making is a characteristic of today’s young people. They have learnt to act fast. The video games young people have grown up with have played a vital role. They have played with simulations since their childhood and have learned to act fast, observe what happens, and adapt. I don’t remember to have imagined of a video game in my childhood. The games I knew about were Kabbadi; Musical Chair; Foot Ball & Volley Ball etc.

The concept of career has changed. Young people talk more about jobs and skills than they do about career paths. They don’t see any benefit in picking a single career. Rather young people hunt for more than one career parallel. Life in the new millennium is all about speed. In a climate of rapid change the younger knows to act fast and win or stay in the game. Those who proceed slowly and cautiously lose. The Information era has taught never to wait for anything. Computer simulations help formulate ideas, test them, retest, refine and move forward. Younger believes in just doing it at the speed of thought.

In conclusion; loyalty has new meaning among younger generation that sees parents little downsized and reengineered. They know the days of corporate loyalty are long gone. Young people now look after themselves first and they reciprocate loyalty to the cause or organization wherever they feel respected and valued.
