It has recently been announced that a new movie theater may be built in your neighborhood. Do you support or oppose this plan? Why? Use specific reasons and details to support your answer.

I oppose the plan of building a movie theater in the neighborhood.
A movie theater is a centre of attraction for masses. This may create a huge rush and over crowding in the area. This would increase traffic enormously thereby increasing possibilities of accidents. Increased vehicular traffic results into air pollution by way of Carbon Mono Oxide, Carbon Dioxide gases and heat generation and dissipation. Increase in vehicular traffic results into greater Global Warming too.
Over and above different kinds of people with different temperament and different kinds of attitudes would gather at one point. This may give rise to indifferent behaviors that leads to quarrels and may result into crimes that are undesirable. Besides presence of a movie theatre causes the area to become noisy thus peace of the area is lost. This disturbs the studies of the students and a good night sleep of the residents. Particularly older and sick people needing rest may find this to be a curse.
For an example, if a bar is easily available to an alcoholic he tends to drink more and more. Similarly when a movie theater is available in the neighborhoods, student community shall be more and more tempted to visit movies thereby wasting their precious time in watching movies than in studies. This in turn ruins the career of the young boys and girls who are the nation’s resource and assets. While entertainment in the form of television & video films is available within the house itself, it is pointless to have Movie Theater built in the neighborhood.
In conclusion construction of a Movie Theater in the neighborhood is not in the interest of the residents by large and must be strongly opposed and disapproved. -----------(286 Words)
