--------------------------------------------------------------

I am strongly of the view that historical buildings must be protected and preserved. Those are memories of our ancestors, those indicate of the past history of the people and places. Our profound emotions are attached to those and we are sentimentally and emotionally involved with those memories of our ancestors. We preserve the photographs of our great grandparents, grandparents and even parents for that matter and also we tend to preserve of our childhood; and we occasionally witness those and cherish the memories of past and feel happy. Just as we protect those memories, we must protect old historic buildings too.

Secondly, history is the study of the past, focused on human activity and leading up to the present day. More precisely, history is the continuous, systematic narration of past events with extensive research work into it. The old historic buildings and monuments are the most important and valid source for the study and research work on the subject of history for historians; those who study it as a profession.

Old historic buildings attract tourists from various countries and thereby importance of that place increases. It also boosts the revenue to the government through department of tourism this strengthens economy of the nation.

In conclusion, it has been very validly explained in a quotation by David C. McCullough; that “History is a guide to navigation in perilous times. History is who we are and why we are the way we are”. We must never destroy old historical buildings and monuments; rather we must preserve them and protect them how best we can.
