Use of am is was and were
दोस्तो ठाकोर जोशी इंग्लीश ट्रेनर का नमस्कार! आज का हमारा विषय है: -                                         am-was / is – was / are and were

Use of am – was / is – was / are and were
1.       Am --- a verb that is used in present tense with I only and nowhere else.
2.       Is--- a verb that is used for singular in present tense.
3.       Was--- a verb that is used for singular in past tense.
4.       Are--- a verb that is used for plural in present tense.
5.       Are--- (As a mark of respect) is always used for second person though singular i.e. you. 
6.       Were--- a verb used for plural in past tense and for the second person “You”.

The above verbs indicate the state e.g.
7.       I am fine.
8.       You are handsome.
9.       She is beautiful.
10.   He is young.

In the above sentences 7 / 8 / 9 and 10, the words fine, handsome, beautiful and young are the Adjectives and denote the state of individuals. The above words can be used for explaining the state of nonliving things also.

Example: -
11.   This garden is large.
12.   That house is big.
13.   These cars are small.
14.   Those plants have tiny flowers.

In the above sentences, 11 / 12 / 13 and 14 the words large, big, small and tiny are the adjectives and garden, house; cars and plants are the nouns. (Nonliving)

In the above table, the first column has 6 persons, second column has the relevant verbs and the third column has 11 adjectives.

1.       In the above table, all the eleven adjectives can be used with all persons, I, we, you, he, she and they making 66 present and 66 past tense sentences. (Total 132 sentences)

2.       Further think of negative and add not before the last word. That makes another 132 sentences.
3.       Furthermore think of making all sentences interrogative (Positive) and make 132 sentences.
4.       Last but not least make all sentences interrogative (Negative) make 132 more sentences.

Here we have learnt 132x4 = 528 sentences. Wow.  How easy and quick. Exactly like we learnt tables in primary school. English learning is as easy as driving a car.
