Essay: - Mission versus Goal

Mission by definition is an individual’s purpose accompanied by strong conviction for achieving the goal. Everyone must decide goals that one wants to achieve. One who achieves goals achieves success. Without a mission and goal there can’t be a success.
Success never comes easily. One has to have strong dedication and work hard persistently for the success. One thing is very sure and common that anyone without a goal and mission would never understand the importance of success. In the process of working for the mission and goal one may come across some hurdles and failures.
Every human being has two types of behaviours like Approach and Avoidance. Approach is with a motivation of achievement and Avoidance is with a Fear of Failure. More people have fear of failure than approach to achievement. Hence when there are hurdles and failure they tend to give in or give up.
To complete the mission and achieve the goal, fear of failure and avoidance behaviour must be consciously controlled and overcome. One must learn to accept failure as a natural phenomenon. Every failure is an opportunity to learn to do the task differently and achieve success. A well-known quote is “Winners don’t do different things. They do things differently.” By Shiv Khera.
A person cannot be perfect unless he practices to learn from his mistakes. Similarly a person is not expected to be master of all jobs hence he needs to depend and learn from on experience of others. One needs to be equally focused on achieving the success and the goal.
In conclusion all big entrepreneurs and achievers have missions; they work hard to pursue them and finally achieve their goals. Hence mission is what you perform and describes how you achieved success. Undoubtedly to have a mission is the most important for survival. Therefore set it now to succeed with flying colours.
