---------------------------------

I prefer to live in places that have steady climatic conditions. However the selection making by the people, largely depends upon an individual’s circumstances and health conditions. For the persons above 60 or 65, any brisk changes in climates may cause discomfort and health problem. In this essay I will elaborate impact of varying climates on human health.

Weather has a profound effect on human health and well-being regardless of age. However older people are more prone to health problems on account of climatic variations. Weather is associated with changes in birth rates, with outbreaks of pneumonia, influenza and bronchitis, and is related to other morbidity effects linked to pollen concentrations and high pollution levels. Furthermore, hot weather extremes have greater substantial impact on mortality than cold waves. Normal health can be maintained by frequent exercises, consumption of fluids, and living in shaded residences. Acclimatization may moderate the impact of successive heat waves over the short term. Similarly, humidity has an important impact on mortality since it contributes to the body's ability to cool itself by evaporation of perspiration. It also has an important influence on morbidity in the winter because cold, dry air leads to excessive dehydration of nasal passages and the upper respiratory tract and increased chance of microbial and viral infection.

In conclusion, with the time, a person get use to climates and the system become immune. However frequent exposures to extremely varying climates pose health problems especially to elderly people. In order to stay healthy one must opt to stay in a relatively steady type of climatic conditions. Staying healthy improves efficiency and effectiveness and in turn, the productivity and profitability.
