While I fully agree that information technology is a great surprise to the people but I totally disagree that information technology would result into a polarized society and may lead to serious social problem.

Before introduction of information technology and Computers, the jobs were carried out manually. This involved tremendous amount of manpower, labor, time and money. Documents and records use to be in paper form i.e. in the physical form thus having large mass volume and weight and occupying a huge area. While computers had just begun, computers also were huge in size shape and weight thereby occupying enormous space. Now computers have become as compact as a note-book. Those are known as laptops and can be carried anywhere and operated by putting it on lap. These days, bulk of papers, files, documents, and records have totally been eliminated and entire information and data is stored on hard drive of a computer and can be accessed at any time and anywhere. Also use of internet for information, business, education, communication, health monitoring & management, entertainment is a boon to the human kind. In this time of cut-throat competition, survival is for the fittest and one must keep pace with the time.

In conclusion information technology is now so wide spread that life without it can’t be imagined. It is a boon to human kind. Information Technology must be fully harnessed and optimally utilized for the growth and development. Nevertheless at a micro level, very tiny group of old timers may not be computer literate and may not use it. This in no way polarizes society, thus no serious social problem is foreseen.
