TOEFL Speaking 40 My Favourite Small Maruti Car

40. What is your favourite way of getting around? Describe it and explain why it is your favourite means of transportation.
---------------------------

My favourite way of getting around is my small Maruti car. I can use this car for going to school or college, attending office or business, shopping or socializing and numerous daily activities. The life has become very fast and time is extremely scarce. We have to cope with the work and the business for which a small car is a great help. Small car is compact and less expensive because it consumes less gasoline (Petrol). It emits less exhaust gas and heat as compared to big cars. This helps in conservation of resources and protects environment from pollution and global warming. Hence small Maruti car is my favourite means of transportation.

Essay: Investment by Government in Public Services versus Art, Music, Painting etc

Some people think that governments should invest more in public services instead of wasting money on arts such as music and paintings. To what extent do you agree or disagree?
----------------------------

Indeed Governments must spend towards public service and they do, however to say that spending toward arts, music, paintings is a waste of money is totally wrong. In this essay we will look at the either perspectives.

Government by definition means a group of people elected by the majority of the population to govern a country or a state. Government is necessary to the existence of civilised society. It is responsible for a good governance and administration in the interest of the population by large. Public service comprises mainly of providing schools, Colleges, Hospitals, Railways, Airways, Roadways, Seaway and allied infrastructure facilities.Respective governments ensure this for the economic growth of the nation and its nationals.

Art comprises of several items of arts. Some of the things are drawing, painting, music, dancing, drama, sculpture and many more. Not forgetting Cinema and Television soaps which are most popular these days. Paintings are displayed in the Art Gallery and this becomes the main source of attracting tourists and earning revenue for the country.  Cinema and Television is a very big entertainment industry earning immense revenue for the country. Similarly painting, music, dancing and drama are no exception to earning huge revenue for the country and countrymen. These industries contribute greatly toward economic growth of the nation by way of earning revenue and jobs for its population by large.

In nutshell, governments must spend adequately towards the need fulfilment of the population by large as well as the arts, painting, music, dancing, drama, sculpture and many more like Cinema and Television soaps etc. But to say that spending toward the latter is a waste of money is absolutely wrong.
