“Spend Time with Few Or Larger Group”

Some people prefer to spend time with one or two close friends. Others choose to spend time with a large number of friends. Compare the advantages of each choice. Which of these two ways of spending time do you prefer? Use specific reasons to support your answer.
-----------------------------------------

I prefer to have one or two close friends instead of many. In contrast I believe that more number of friends means contacts. To have more contacts is beneficial on the business front. People with more contacts are more successful compared to those who have less number of contacts. Nevertheless to have close friends one must have limit to one or two. Because close friends sometimes know many things about us which many others are not supposed to know, also we can’t rely on too many to share personal information with. We must be highly disciplined in this matter.

Friends occupy positions of extreme importance in our lives. Often it can seem as if they are more important than parents! Friends can have great influence over many areas of a peer’s emerging identity. Their choice of music, movies, clothes, boyfriends or girlfriends, classes, jobs, and so on. In some cases, it doesn’t stop here; it also covers the personal standards of behavior, school / university performance, morals and values. This makes it especially important for the one to make good friendship choices.

Friends influence peer’s life, even if they don't realize it, just by spending time with them. We often learn from them, and vice versa. It's only human nature to listen to and learn from other people. Friends can have a positive influence each other. Friends build a sense of trust, respect, and mutual support.

In the nutshell, sometimes one may become more susceptible to negative influences like getting addicted to smoking, drinking, drug-abuse and premature sex and many more. Hence it is very important to choose close friends extremely carefully and selectively with whom we can spend quite some time.

“Spend Time Alone or With Friends”

Some people prefer to spend most of their time alone. Others like to be with friends most of the time. Do you prefer to spend your time alone or with friends? Use specific reasons to support your answer.
------------------------------

I would prefer to spend time with friends as far as possible. In this essay I will elaborate on my viewpoint.

Mankind is social creature and one must learn to live among society and not aloof. By staying alone one becomes introvert and none seems to care for him or her. When one is with friends, he or she can interact with them and vice versa. We learn many things by interacting with friends. Friends occupy positions of extreme importance in our lives. Often it can seem as if they are more important than our parents even! Friends can have great influence over many of us. Our choice of music, movies, clothes, boyfriends or girlfriends, classes, jobs, and so on. In some cases, it doesn’t stop here; it also covers the personal standards of behavior, school or university performance or business performances, morals and values. This makes it especially important for us to make good friendship choices.

Introversion is "the state of or tendency toward being wholly or predominantly concerned with and interested in one's own mental life". Introverts tend to be quiet, low-key, deliberate, and relatively non-engaged in social situations. They take pleasure in solitary activities such as reading, writing, and drawing, watching movies, listening to music, inventing, and designing. An introverted person is likely to enjoy time spent alone and find less reward in time spent with large groups of people. They prefer to concentrate on a single activity at a time and like to observe situations before they participate.

In conclusion there are no rights or wrong for being introvert or extrovert, it is solely a matter of choice of an individual. However I enjoy being in company of my friends most of the time.

“Spend On Technology or Basic Needs”

Some people think that governments should spend as much money as possible on developing or buying computer technology. Other people disagree and think that this money should be spent on more basic needs. Which one of these opinions do you agree with? Use specific reasons and details to support your answer.
-----------------------------

I feel government must spend more money on basic human needs rather than computer technology.

Immense increase in world population has given rise to many grave problems. The basic human needs for fresh water, food, housing and fuel have sky rocketed and those are making unprecedented demands on our global and local ecosystems. Further than the necessities of survival, there is increasing demand throughout the globe for more material goods and services. As the nations strive to increase material wealth and the comforts and conveniences, the pressure on biodiversity and natural resources has tremendously increased. Enormous housing constructions causes trees falling and jungle cutting thereby causing imbalance of ecology. Furthermore, numerous vehicles cause environment pollution by emission of carbon mono oxide and carbon-dioxide and heat generation.

Heat generation thus adds to global warming. Global warming represents a profound and emerging threat to biodiversity around the world. As temperatures rise, many habitats for plants and animals will change sometimes depriving them of the homes and niches. As a result, many species will become extinct, and ecosystems around the world will become even more fragile.

Massive industrialization has caused tremendous amount of gases in the atmosphere that has in turn caused depletion in ozone layer resulting into shortage of Oxygen. Many other liquids discharged in form of effluents contaminate the earth thereby most fertile land turns into barren.

Summarizing, a large population strata consists of commoners that has no direct or indirect impact of advancement of computer technology. However computer technology is important for overall progress and development. But the basic human needs are a paramount importance for survival and must not be neglected.

“Spend More on Improving Roads or Transport”

Should governments spend more money on improving roads and highways, or should governments spend more money on improving public transportation (buses, trains, subways)? Why? Use specific reasons and details to develop your essay.
------------------------

Many believe that governments should spend more money on improving roads and highways. Some feel that more money should be spent on improving public transport. I personally, opine that both of the jobs are equally important.

The first reason for proliferation of automobiles is the overpopulation. The numbers of various automobiles have risen dramatically. Aftermath of this drastic rise in automobiles is the wear and tear to the roads those depreciate and deteriorate day and on. Said phenomenon calls for and necessitates frequent upkeep of roads and highways. In the interest of safe and comfortable transport, governments must spend money on regular condition monitoring and up-keep of the roads and highways from time to time. At the same time availability of a good public transport shall considerably reduce the movement of private owned vehicles this would greatly help minimizing wear and tear of roads and highways. An added advantage shall be reduction in pollution of environment that would be a boon to the population by large.

Secondly improvement in public transport shall help reducing traffic jams in the peak hours and shall greatly help business class, office goers, and student community. This shall greatly help in the Energy and Oil Conservation missions of the respective Governments. Besides that, public transport is very much affordable to middle income group and lower income groups of people. Nonetheless everyone can’t afford a car. Furthermore public transport saves time and money. Moreover reduction in vehicle movement shall greatly reduce road accidents. Sometimes road mishaps are disastrous and fatal even.

In the nutshell Governments must pay attention towards condition monitoring and upkeep of roads and highways. It must spend money on improving public transportation and roads and highways depending upon the need.

“Spend More Money on Technology or Basic Needs”

Some people think that governments should spend as much money as possible on developing or buying computer technology. Other people disagree and think that this money should be spent on more basic needs. Which one of these opinions do you agree with? Use specific reasons and details to support your answer.
----------------------------------

I think, government must spend maximum towards human needs than computer technology as India is extremely overpopulated. I will discuss human needs as per Maslow’s theory.

Basic needs are Food, Water, Sleep, Shelter and Warmth. If those needs are not fulfilled, a human's physiological needs take the highest priority. Physiological needs can control thoughts and behaviors, and can cause people to feel sickness, pain, and discomfort. Furthermore are the Safety needs, when physiological needs are met, the need for safety will emerge. When one stage is fulfilled, a person naturally moves to the next. These include: Personal security from lay-offs, personal health, and recovery after accidents, illnesses and any adverse impacts. Maslow believed that humans have the need to increase their intelligence and thereby chase knowledge. Cognitive needs is the expression of the natural human need to learn, for education, explore, discover and create to get a better understanding of the world around them.

Last but not least; Needs of Love, Belonging, and Social needs. After physiological and safety needs are fulfilled, the third layer of human needs is social. This psychological aspect of Maslow's hierarchy involves emotionally-based relationships in general, such as: friendship and sexual intimacy having a supportive and communicative family

In conclusion, overpopulation has resulted into a grave problem of unemployment causing acute poverty. People have no jobs, no shelters to live and no food to eat. Medical and Educational facilities have turned insufficient thus people die of sicknesses and ailments. The victims of unemployment and poverty resort to unfair ways of earning. Those can be loot, vandalism, sex business, drug paddling and alike. Such unfair ways give rise to crimes thus crime rate shoots-up to alarming levels. Under the circumstances I feel government must spend more toward basic human needs than computerization.
